It is now early April, 2019, and while the calendar says we’re 19 months away from the 2020 election, I can assure you we are both a whole lot closer than that to the campaigns in earnest, and it’s going to seem like an eternity before Election Day.

It seems like every few days, some other democrat crawls out of their hole, sees their shadow and announces that they too are running for the presidency in 2020.

At this point, it bears a striking resemblance to one of those little cars at the circus that stops at center ring and about a hundred clowns come pouring out of it. Politics in this metaphor would represent the circus, the 2020 election would be the center ring, and…

Last Week’s News in Its Proper Perspective

Last week was a very interesting week, and one that I believe needs to be put in its proper, snarky perspective.

Ready or not…here we go…

Okay…Syria is all bent out of shape because, last week, President Trump officially recognized Israel’s sovereignty in the Golan Heights. Syria has, since 1967 accused Israel of occupying what belongs to Syria.

Ummmm…excuse me Syria…but perhaps you should have thought about the consequences of trying to invade Israel before you invaded Israel in 1967…and perhaps you should have considered the ramifications of getting your asses kicked in what has to have been one of the absolute shortest wars in the history of wars.

Sure…you figured…hey, new country, how ready could Israel possibly be to wage a war…right? Well, it took Israel just 6 days to whoop ya, and after doing so, Israel had every right to the Golan Heights…so get over it, and get over yourselves.

A Change in the Weather, Not the Climate

I’d like to take a bit of your time to talk to you today about the weather.

Sorry…I mean global warming.

Sorry…I meant to say…climate change.

Here in Nebraska, where I live, and you may not know where exactly that is so let me explain it this way…you know how, when you’re watching some weather lady give the national forecast on TV…well…we’re located directly behind where she stands while lying the rest of you about what it’s going to be like where you live.

Anyway, here in Nebraska last week…we had quite the weather…global warming/climate change event. We’re used to the climate changing here about every five minutes but last week was a doozy. Last Tuesday, it was beautiful, 50 degrees and sunny. Then last Wednesday, it started raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock from 2 in the freakin’ morning until it turned to snow at around 4 in the afternoon. The wind came up to about 60 mph and it snowed and blowed (a Nebraska saying) or snew and blew for the rest of you until about 2 in the afternoon on Thursday.

It doesn’t happen very often at all, that I delve into the world of sports. The National Patriot is a political site, but more and more often these days, the worlds of sports and politics are colliding.

They shouldn’t, but they do, and that is why I now feel compelled to raise a bit of a racket…or to be more precise…a tennis racquet.

I started playing tennis in the early 1970’s as a kid, and by the late 70’s, I was watching major tennis tournaments and marveling at the ability of the pros in the sport. Conners, Borg, Laver, Năstase, Ashe…Evert, and Goolagong.

Hey Liberals…Neener Neener

In the past several articles here in The National Patriot, I have outlined the pitfalls of socialism…not that conservatives aren’t already aware of such things…and not that liberals would read those articles even if they could read.

The overwhelming history of socialism is that, everywhere it has ever been implemented, and every time it has been implemented, it eventually collapses in failure.

Last week, in several primary races leading up to the 2018 midterm elections this November, liberals need look no further than their own candidates to witness such a collapse.

In the weeks and days leading up to several key primaries, liberals sent their socialist collective darlings…Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cynthia Nixon and Bernie Sanders, otherwise known as the Marxist Sisters and the namesake of Weekend at Bernie’s…on an extended road trip to whip up support for their fellow socialist candidates.

25 Years vs. 500 Days

It’s been almost 70 years…70 long years of animosity and mistrust and it all came to an end on Tuesday, June 12th at around 2:30 am EST when President Donald J. Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un signed a document at the NOKO Summit putting the past behind together signaling a new day not just for our two nations but for the world as well.

And getting to that new day has seen many bumps along the way but the fact is we’re here now. And some are still in awe as to how we got here…and what took so long…but to understand that we must visit the past to truly appreciate the possibilities the future now holds.

Let’s start with the fact that U.S. policy towards North Korea has always been to “deter conflict” on the peninsula, prevent North Korea from developing both nuclear weapons and its corresponding delivery systems, and more recently forcing the North to improve its human rights record. At the same time North Korea wanted the removal of U.S. forces from South Korea, wanted to be recognized as a nuclear power and world “player,” and sought food and energy assistance via sanctions relief.

A Manufactured March for Madness

Last week, anti-2nd Amendment kids from Parkland, Florida were on the cover of Time Magazine. Sporting grim faces, and issuing their collective statement, “Enough.” It was in stark contrast to their smiling faces seen in group photos taken on their way to various events over the past month, where they seemed to be almost giddy over their new found 15 minutes of fame.

What we actually have here, is a disingenuous group of teens, fronted by their disingenuous defacto teen leader, David Hogg, and being propelled by liberals who are hiding behind these children to push their unconstitutional assault against the 2nd Amendment.

The kids are nothing but willful, narcissistic shills, wallowing about in propaganda induced fame that’s as fake as the news coverage provided them by the mainstream media.

Politics and The First Christmas

chr 1It is difficult to escape the political undertow in today’s world. Politics is in play in everything we do, from our daily routines to events half way around the world. Our schools, our streets and roads…regulations imposed on everything from our businesses to the water we drink…wars, conflicts, diplomatic relations with nations both friend and foe…we can’t get up in the morning, proceed with our daily business or go to bed at night without political interference.

This time of the year, we do our best to ignore, to whatever extent possible, the world of politics in favor of time-honored traditions that revolve around Christmas or Chanukah, but we should not forget the role of politics IN Christmas…the first Christmas to be precise.

Just as the death of Jesus on the cross was politically motivated, so too was the story of his birth.

While the scriptures reveal that Joseph and Mary traveled to Bethlehem to pay their taxes, the truth goes politically deeper than that.

Trump: The End of the Deal

Last Friday, after listing all of Iran’s past and present nasty deeds and nuclear deal violations…our president under the guise of the ‘Congressional Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act’ rightfully decided not to ‘recertify’ Obama’s ‘very bad’ nuclear deal…a deal subject to recertification every 90 days.

A campaign promise kept and thank you Mr. President for doing so.

Trump’s Bold and Blistering Stand at the U.N.

One week ago, President Donald J. Trump delivered an epic speech at the U.N. General Assembly in which he blistered North Korea, Islamic terrorism and the rogue nation of Iran.

During that speech, quite possibly the best delivered by any American President since Ronald Reagan, President Trump also delivered a stinging and accurate rebuke of socialism.

In the process of delivering that speech just a week ago, President Trump stood with Israel, called out the United Nations as an organization and stood directly against the will and wishes of many of his own advisors.

While most of President Trump’s speech was anything but politically correct, and was more accurately politically direct, there was one subtlety that went unnoticed by many, drew light disappointment by some, but stood out later in the day…
