What Obama DOESN’T Want You to Know About “Hopey Changey”

Can we give it a rest? Can we just give it a rest?

I’m talking about the nonsense put forth by so many reports that Obama has now kicked off his 2012 campaign. Every day, after an Obama speech, someone claims that Obama has kicked off his campaign.

Bull.

Obama kicked off his 2012 campaign the day he took office back in 2009 so can we please give the “He just kicked off his campaign” stuff a rest?

That’s one of the biggest problems with this administration…That they have never, for a single minute, been OUT of campaign mode. Rather than seeing to the business of the country, rather than seeing to the business of the people, Obama has spent his entire term engaged in the business of Obama.

Hey liberals…How’s that hopey changey crap working out for you?

The Federal Government and King George

This article is an exploration on many of the charges listed in the Declaration of Independence against King George and how they apply to the Federal Government.  I had been thinking of this for quite some time, as had many others before me apparently.  There are a few decent articles written on this subject on the internet, from which I have gained some inspiration.  I purposefully tried to eliminate the idea that our current “President” has committed the same offenses and rather decided that the behemoth of our Federal Government is at fault.

The reason it is at fault can be summed up in the Declaration of Independence.  The condition of American society with regard to the power the Federal Government has on all of us shows “that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.”  This is just as true today as it was over 200 years ago.  It is not just the fault of the President, but of the government as a whole.  The checks and balances system is broken, and few have the moral compass to keep the nation pointed in the right direction even if it means they will not see another term.  We have become accustomed to Federal involvement in our daily lives.  Whereas the Constitution used to provide the guidepost to which all politicians used to face, it is now carved up, interpreted and reinterpreted to justify any and all actions against liberty.

With that, I give you the following charges against King George, and the actions of the Federal Government that mirror the justification of those charges (not inclusive of all charges, just the ones I could justify):

Is THIS the Writing on the Socialist Wall??

Who didn’t see THIS coming?

There is now some talk about Obama dumping Biden from the 2012 ticket and replacing him with Hillary.

First off, Obama is in trouble and he knows it. His base is fleeing. He needs to add someone who socialists want. Hillary fills the ticket. She ran hard against Obama in ’08 and there seem to be a lot of liberals who would rather have HER in the White House than HIM.

The weirdest part of the scuttlebutt at this point is that Biden and Hillary would swap jobs.

Can you even IMAGINE Joe Biden as Secretary of State? Seriously, at this point, the guy can shoot off his mouth with all sorts of inane and crazy blather – and other than making for some entertaining sound bites, it’s harmless. But as Secretary of State…he would be sticking our national foot in HIS mouth on the WORLD stage and I suspect, that within days of taking the job, Biden would manage to INSULT at least HALF of our allies.

Let’s get back to the VP Hillary thing.

Obamacare ON the Docket

We knew the decision was forthcoming and now, it has been announced. The Supreme Court WILL hear the case, being brought by 26 states, on Obamacare!

The High Court will hear arguments regarding the Individual Mandate as well as Severability.

Arguments will most likely be made in March of 2012, which would indicate a decision by the Court will be forthcoming in June of 2012.

By hearing arguments regarding Severability, the court will decide whether the Obamacare law would stand sans the Individual Mandate. Should they find the Mandate could be severed from the rest of the law, the rest would remain on the books and that could very well be the case but, should that happen, the Individual Mandate struck as unconstitutional while the rest kept intact, the problem for the Obama administration would be finding a way to fund the rest.

It is widely seen as the Mandate being the funding engine for the rest of Obamacare – and should that Mandate be removed from the bill, it would be on life support but not killed.

Coming Soon to a Supreme Court Near You – Obamacare

In less than 2 weeks, we will know whether or not the Supreme Court will hear the case against Obamacare. As it now stands, more than half the states are engaged in that action and it is widely believed that the fate of Obamacare will rest in the hands of the Court.

Before we get to that, a refresher in the issues at hand might be a good thing.

At the heart of the lawsuits regarding Obamacare is the “individual mandate.” That is, of course, the part of Obamacare which makes it mandatory for people to purchase their healthcare from a government approved…government…healthcare provider.

For those who don’t, a fine disguised as a tax will be levied against them at a rate of $750.00 or 2% of income.

I say “disguised” because this is neither an income nor an excise tax – but a punishment or a means of enforcement and while Obama and his administration can call it whatever they want to call it; the fact remains, it is a punishment…Not a tax. Proof of this lies in the fact that the tax…er…Mandate is $750.00 or 2% of income…Whichever constitutes the higher amount.

Has the fool on the hill finally seen the light? Has Obama started to come around to OUR side? It certainly seems like it if you listen to the words he is now employing on his latest campaign swing.

“If you get sick, you’re on your own. If you can’t afford college, you’re on your own. If you don’t like that some corporation is polluting your air or the air that your child breathes, then you’re on your own.”

Sounds a lot like…Self Reliance to me.

Obamacare is now “CLASSless”

Obama’ quietly has struck a part of his own Obamacare bill because, guess what, it’s unsustainable and now tha plug has been pulled on the “CLASS Act,” Community Living Assistance Service and Supports, part of Obamacare.

CLASS was the part of Obamacare most heavily championed by Ted Kennedy and also heavily backed by AARP and was supposed to have provided ongoing long term care and was meant to keep the elderly out of long term care facilities. It would have cost workers a ton and would have burdened private insurance companies and ultimately, the American taxpayers.

Average premiums would have run from around $200.00 to nearly $400.00 but could have, in some cases, run as high as $3000.00. Low income individuals would have only been charged $5.00 per month for the coverage but here was the giant problem…According to the CBO…the annual payout for those $5.00/month contributors would have been around $27,000.00.

Workers would have had $2,800.00/year automatically taken by the government for this program and would have had no choice but to enroll in it.

CLASS would have relied on the healthy young workers to cover the elderly for long term care outside of facilities.

Socialism always works until you run out of other people’s money.

Does the GOP Need a Game Changer or a Game Winner?

Am I the only one who thinks, the more we hear from Rick Perry…The LESS we’re GOING to be hearing from Rick Perry? It’s because we’re learning more and more about candidate Perry and we’re learning it from HIM and this guy, every time he speaks, seems to be taking direct aim at his own foot.

Perry’s demise is going to come at the hands of his own policies and chief among them, his stance on illegal aliens.

Perry stands WITH the idea of allowing those in our country, specifically in Texas, to receive in-state tuition breaks and that is a direct salvo fired at a very stout Tea Party tenant. Perry can’t back away from this issue, even though now, I’m sure he would like to. Perry made this a law in Texas – and now, he’s stood firmly behind his policy on the debate stage. He went so far as to state that anyone against such a policy is heartless.

Obamacare Puts YOUR Privacy at Risk

Yesterday, I wrote an article regarding the need to stop Obamacare – not just through the court system but by repeal. The Obama administration has passed on the opportunity to delay things in an Alabama court which will take the Obamacare case directly to the Supreme Court with a decision expected early next summer.

I stated that even LOSING in court, Obama would know his precious socialized healthcare program wouldn’t be dead…just on life support. That is why conservatives MUST take the Senate in 2012 so that repeal will finally pull the plug.

Okay, a friend, a liberal friend, shot off an email and of course, his viewpoint is a great deal different than mine.

Obamacare Headed for Life Support – But Only WE can Kill It!

Obamacare is on its way to the U.S. Supreme Court. The administration has passed on an opportunity to ask an Alabama court for further review after the court agreed with 26 states that the bill was unconstitutional.

That means, when the Supreme Court goes into session in October, Obamacare will be on the docket and chances are the case will be heard before the end of this year with a decision coming probably next summer in the heat of the 2012 presidential campaign.

That’s NOT the big news surrounding Obamacare however.

This is one of those good news/bad news things – and before we get to the bad news, the really disturbing news, we should look at the ramifications of the decision at hand.
