To All Who Have Served, We Thank You

“To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…”

With those words, in 1919, President Wilson marked the 1st anniversary of the end of the War to End All Wars, a day which would become Armistice Day.

That war, the 1st World War came to an end on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918.

Some 7 years later, a Congressional resolution read: Whereas the 11th of November 1918, marked the cessation of the most destructive, sanguinary, and far reaching war in human annals and the resumption by the people of the United States of peaceful relations with other nations, which we hope may never again be severed, and

Whereas it is fitting that the recurring anniversary of this date should be commemorated with thanksgiving and prayer and exercises designed to perpetuate peace through good will and mutual understanding between nations; and

Whereas the legislatures of twenty-seven of our States have already declared November 11 to be a legal holiday: Therefore be it Resolved by the Senate (the House of Representatives concurring), that the President of the United States is requested to issue a proclamation calling upon the officials to display the flag of the United States on all Government buildings on November 11 and inviting the people of the United States to observe the day in schools and churches, or other suitable places, with appropriate ceremonies of friendly relations with all other peoples.

While the Marine Corps Celebrates, We Remember

Tomorrow is Veterans Day but today is special too. Today we celebrate the 236th birthday of the United States Marines. Formed in 1775 to assist the U.S. Navy during the Revolutionary War to conduct ship-to-ship fighting, provide shipboard security and discipline enforcement, and assist in landing forces.

Throughout its long and storied history, the U.S. Marines have fought in every conflict in which we have been involved.

While many will today celebrate the Corps and recount their history, I have chosen to narrow the focus.

In honor of the entire U.S. Marine Corps, throughout history and those who serve with honor today, I want to draw your attention to a single unit. A mere 400 Marines who changed history and who are responsible for our freedoms today.

There aren’t many of them left and it wasn’t until recently that these Marines were formally recognized for their remarkable efforts but you should know who they were, what they did and who they are now.

Obama’s Latest Foreign Policy FAIL

“Seal Target Geronimo” is the name of a new book by Chuch Pfarrer. Geronimo, as you will remember, was the code name for bin Laden during the raid in Pakistan which killed him. In this book, Pfarrer describes, among other things, how this raid likely went down.

Pfarrer should know what he’s talking about too.

Chuck Pfarrer is a former Navy Seal, but that’s not the end of it. While not personally involved in the bin Laden raid, Pfarrer used to be with Seal Tem Six as an Assault Element Commander and I suspect, he has some pretty spot on contacts.

According to the author, it is most likely that the shot that took bin Laden out came within 2 minutes of the time those Seals broke through the front door of that compound.

That’s not what caught my eye.

13 Words Obama Admin Does NOT Want on WWII Memorial

With thy blessing we shall prevail over the unholy forces of our enemy.”

Those 13 words, spoken 67 years ago meant something. Those words meant a lot. They were words of comfort and of hope spoken to the nation 67 years ago.

With those 13 words, spoken to the nation by President Roosevelt 67 years ago, the United States launched, on June 6th, 1944, the D-Day invasion and sent thousands of our troops into the most dangerous situation of their lives and our history.

That decision by Roosevelt was not, could not have been easy; and he, as well as the nation, knew that many of those being sent to those fateful beaches would never return.

Those in uniform knew that too.

Roosevelt also knew the beaches would just be the beginning and that of those who made it off those beaches, many more would be lost before the end of that war.

He knew it, we knew it and they knew it.

Obama, the Emperor, Has No Clothes

None of this should come as any surprise. None of it. The National Patriot has all but predicted it, and now it’s coming to pass.

The Obama doctrine is coming home to roost in the most dangerous part of the world and the result will be an even more dangerous world.

Last week, I posed the question, “What’s next for Libya?”

In that article, I pointed out how the vacuum had been created with the ouster of Gaddafi and how the Muslim Brotherhood was standing in the wings.

Yesterday, as the Libyan National Transitional Council declared liberation following the killing of Gadaffi, they went exactly where I knew they would go.

That council has made it crystal clear that Sharia Law will be the basis of their new government which ensures that their people, the Libyans who fought for their freedom from a brutal dictator of 42 years, will now see it replaced by an even more brutal regime.

Kaddafi…Qaddafi…Gaddafi…DEAD!!!

No matter how you spell it Kaddafi…Qaddafi…Gaddafi…is reportedly D-E-A-D this morning.

According to reports from Reuters, the former Libyan thug, the Madman of the Middle East, who have vowed to go down fighting has fulfilled that promise.

The reports claim Gaddafi was trapped near his hometown of Sirte, shot in the legs, both of them, captured and died of his wounds at the hands of Libyan rebels.

The former dictator, the longest ruling ever in Africa, has been on the run for months and now, though unconfirmed by U.S. officials, has met his end. A State Department official has confirmed to Fox News that Gadaffi had indeed been captured but gave no more details than that.

Apparently, according to some reports, he was found hiding in a bunker near Sirte when rebels discovered him.

Who exactly the rebels are and what will happen next, if indeed these reports are true, remains a question.

Hillary Clinton had just paid a visit to Libya and their transitional government committee but the door is now wide open. We know many, thousands if not tens of thousands of weapons have gone missing in Libya over the last few months and those weapons include shoulder fired surface to air missiles and the Muslim Brotherhood IS in the area.

Liberal pundits are already, just minutes after this announcement, giving credit to the Obama policy of leading from behind in this…”Kinetic Action” as they try to make the case, now based on the actions of unknown rebels, that Obama’s policy has been vindicated.

Now, both Reuters and Libyan TV are reporting Gaddafi has been killed.

From DEBKAFile:

As long as Qaddafi was at liberty, the interim government was prevented from establishing its legitimacy and a stable administration. His capture completes the rebel victory. The interim regime must decide whether to try the deposed ruler before a local court or hand him over to the international court.

For the rebel forces, Qaddafi’s capture or death would be a major psychological and political triumph. However, Libya remains bitterly polarized between pro- and anti-Qaddafi factions with scores of rival militias and hundreds of tribes at each other’s throats. Qaddafi’s demise rather than promoting unity and ending the conflict could trigger wider civil bloodshed.

More reports, though unconfirmed, are now stating Gaddafi had either been shot in the head or possibly killed in a NATO strike but more sources are now stating that Gaddafi, one way or another, is indeed dead!

Shadow Patriot’s Rant and No Apology For It

The US does NOT apologize…  I just read an article about how Japan refused an apology from Mr. Obama  (I refuse to disrespect the office of the President by using the title on such as him).

When is our apologizer in chief going to get a clue?  We DON’T APOLOGIZE.  Not that we don’t acknowledge when we do wrong.  I have seen firsthand how even our military does the right thing when we get it wrong.  I have witnessed many military operations and there have been some where we have (RARELY) actioned against the wrong house in search of terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Once the team discovers they have the wrong house, they apologize through the translator and pay the owner for the damage as well as the hassle we caused.  You know why?  It is fair.

Did the US apologize to Libya when Reagan ordered the bombing?  NO.  You want to know why?  Qaddhafi (or however you spell his damned name) SPONSORED terrorism.  We got sick and tired of him doing his thing, and we slapped him back.  Yeah, I know, we nearly bombed the French Embassy, but the fools should have allowed us overflight.  At any rate, that event put Kaddhafi (there is that damned name again) on notice.  He only started playing ball with us when he was caught with his pants down twice importing duel use equipment (stuff used for both civilian and nuclear weapons programs), violating US trade embargoes.  For a few decades, things were OK.  Then he lost his mind at some point.  You know how I know that?  He very nearly caused an aneurism in one of his translators during a rambling address to the UN in New York on 23 September, 2009.  Hope you have your pillows, it is about 100 minutes long.

A Quiet American Hero Recognized

Andy Rasch is an American hero. Hero is a word that gets bandied about far too often and most of the time those to whom it is attached really haven’t earned the distinction.

Those who HAVE earned it would agree that Andy has earned it too.

Andy has earned quite another distinction as well. Last week, in Phoenix, Arizona, and did something remarkable. Andy Rasch had a birthday…His 110th birthday.

Andy is a noticeable man at 6 feet tall and still around 200 pounds and he has a secret for living this long.

“Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead.”

So, what is it exactly which makes Andy Rasch a hero?

Well…Andy served his country in WWII and while that would be enough to have earned the title, Andy did something else too.

Obama Doctrine Puts Israel in Jeapordy

It was back in mid August, around the 17th or 18th, that Obama, no doubt arrogant over his calls for Mubarak and Gadaffi to leave their respective offices, stated that Syria’s Assad must go.

“The future of Syria must be determined by its people, but President Bashar al-Assad is standing in their way. For the sake of the Syrian people, the time has come for President Assad to step aside.”

This has clearly become the Obama doctrine and the point at the end of Obama’s stick is NATO.

Conversations with Nutters

Ok, I am the new dog on the block, but I have known the contributors to this blog for some time now.  With much arm twisting, they FINALLY got me to come along and contribute my words to this great blog.  I do not pretend to be an expert in anything, though I am versed on a lot.  I may not come across to eloquently at times, but I promise I will answer your questions.  I welcome constructive criticism but negativity is not tolerated.  I do not subscribe to any political ideology except that of the Constitution, battered and bruised as she may be.  I have given my time to this country doing many things I can’t talk about, ever.  I held my hand up nearly 20 years ago and swore:  I, Shadow Patriot, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

I will piss you off.  I will make you laugh.  I will give you something to think about.  I may even make you like me.  But what I won’t ever do is candy coat anything.  I call it like I see it…I always have.
