When Netanyahu’s in Town, We Have a Leader in D.C.

Last week, from an AP wire story, we had this:

“Israeli officials said that if they eventually decide a strike is necessary, they would keep the Americans in the dark to decrease the likelihood that the U.S. would be held responsible for failing to stop Israel’s potential attack. The U.S. has been working with the Israelis for months to persuade them that an attack would be only a temporary setback to Iran’s nuclear program.”

This comes from a top level official in the Intelligence Department who, reportedly, is familiar with such discussions.

Bear in mind, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, will be in Washington DC on March 5th and will meet with Obama. They may talk about a variety of things. The Palestinian Authority…The price of rice in China…Why Obama is such a schmuck…

One thing Netanyahu will NOT talk to Obama about is Israel’s plans or a direct timeline to attack Iran “to decrease the likelihood that the U.S. would be held responsible for failing to stop Israel’s potential attack.” You don’t have to read between the lines here. It’s perfectly clear.

Allow me to translate…

Israel will not let Obama in on any plans because the fool and his administration have proven they can’t keep their anti-Israeli pro-Iranian pie holes shut.

Making Our Military PC is Treason

When was the last time our American military won a war?

Ask yourself THAT question. WHEN exactly was it?

I’ll tell you.

WWII.

THAT was the last time our military won a war.

Did we win in Korea? Nope. Vietnam? Clearly not. Did we win the first Gulf War?

Well, there’s a question. We clearly ran Iraq out of Kuwait didn’t we? Yes, clearly we did that. Saddam had promised the mother of all battles and what we saw was the mother of all retreats. Iraqi Republican Guard units were surrendering to journalists and begging for food. They had heard that journalists carried with them…cookies.

At that point, the Republican Guard would have surrendered to the Girl Scouts.

The Iraqi Air Force fled to Iran and Iran kept the planes. It was a route but…Did we win the war?

No…Not really. We won the battle for Kuwait, but we left Saddam in power and did not invade Iraq.

What about the war in Iraq? Did we win THAT one? No. We got Saddam and his sons and chased al Qaeda around but, upon political timelines and decisions, we bailed out before the job was done and now, al Qaeda and Iranian agitators are moving in leaving Iraq a battleground with no clear direction.

Give Iran Exactly What They’re Asking For

It’s time to connect the dots in regard to Iran – and since Obama refuses to do it, we will.

Obama’s podium puppet, Jay Carney stated that, “There is time and space for diplomacy to work, for the effective sanctions to result in a change of Iranian behavior, an agreement by Iran to live up to its obligations, to engage in negotiations to resolve this matter peacefully.”

Bull.

Someone needs to explain to this Alice in Wonderland administration that we have no diplomatic relations with Iran. In fact, we haven’t had diplomatic relations with Iran since 1980 and we have had a trade embargo against them since 1995.

Really? There is time and space for diplomacy to work? We’re talking about Iran here. The only way diplomacy works is if both parties involved have an interest in diplomacy; and guess what? Iran doesn’t.

Iran decided diplomacy with the United States was finished in 1979 as they took 52 Members of our Embassy in Tehran hostage and held them for 444 days – and here’s a little something else the great pretender needs to get a grip on…Those hostages were NOT released via diplomacy or because their behavior changed as a result of sanctions.

Israeli Action vs Obama’s Inaction

Not since Jimmy Carter was in office has an American administration so lacked the political will to engage either our enemies or the enemies of our allies.

With the clock ticking between Israel and Iran, Obama seems much more inclined to try and stop any Israeli action than to force Iran into compliance.

Yes, Obama is enacting sanctions – but sanctions don’t work against such an ideology as Iran’s. If sanctions, even strict sanctions, have any effect at all, it isn’t noticeable for years; and rarely, if ever, even after years of implementation, do sanctions have the desired effect.

Anyone who believe sanctions will keep Iran from developing nuclear weapons would also be apt to believe in rainbow farting unicorns.

In reality, the sanctions pave the way for Iran to “claim” a desire to talk at which point they will make ransom demands for halting their nuclear weapons program while continuing their nuclear weapons program.

National Security Adviser, Tom Donilon, just ended several days of talks IN Israel. Along with Netanyahu, Donilon also had talks with Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Chief of the General Staff Benny Gantz, and National Security Adviser Gen. Yaakov Amidror.

With Iran ramping up THEIR efforts to develop nuclear weapons and with their near non-stop calls for Israel to be eliminated, sanctions in play against Iran, Iran stating they will cease oil shipments to France, Iranian agents trying to kill Israel diplomats in various countries, Iran’s threats to bring THEIR form of terror attacks to OUR nation, a plot regarding the Iranian assassination of Saudi diplomats on OUR soil uncovered last year…

So…You Want More Media Coverage of Military Deaths?

After yesterday’s article, “Of Soldiers and Celebrities” and watching continued complaining in social media outlets regarding the over coverage of Whitney Houston vs the lack of coverage regarding our fallen military heroes, I went to Facebook and posed a question.

“With all the anger being exhibited over the coverage of Whitney Houston’s death vs the losses suffered by our military…How do YOU think the media SHOULD cover those who wear the uniform and lose their lives?”

The responses were interesting, eye opening and varied.

“My personal feelings are there should be a list compiled daily of the previous day’s casualties and deaths and published with headlines in a font so big you’d have to be blind to miss it.”

“Daily continued emergency updates every time a soldier falls. Just like amber alerts breaking into regular schedules and let America know when a soldier is gone. Followed by the pledge of allegiance. Explaining the cause and injuries of each incident. Not a quick comment on the news .”

“Tell us once, and don’t cram it down our throats. If Whitney had NOT been a famous singer, NO ONE would have given a care except for her family. I for one am SICK of the Whitney coverage. The ONLY person that has said something that matters in her death, was Piers Morgan when he asked about why her “so-called friends” that night didn’t stop her from drinking. Pierce is ABSOLUTELY CORRECT…… If you are someone with a drug and alcohol problem, you have to remove yourself from those things. Starting to party in L.A. one week before the Grammy’s was trouble waiting to happen. And I for one, don’t care about it anymore. It’s done, it’s over….. MOVE ON! She was just another druggie, and if it wasn’t for her fame NO ONE WOULD CARE !!

I can understand and appreciate the call for more coverage of our fallen heroes. ANY coverage would be more than exists now – but to those who are calling for it, and angry over the lack of it, a warning should be issued:

Of Soldiers and Celebrities

Over the last several days, since the death of Whitney Houston, I have noticed a rather disturbing trend in social media.

Many conservatives, and among them my friends, have been posting photos and names of soldiers who have recently died and scolding those who have posted thoughts regarding Whitney Houston.

Really?

I get it, to a point. I do.

A celebrity dies vs soldiers who die. I get it.

Unexpected death? Tragic end? I get it.

There is a difference and it’s not about giving one more credit than the other.

Houston’s death was expected. Unfortunately it WAS expected and people have speculated for nearly a decade, that her end, due to a lifestyle which laid waste to common sense, was near. Houston had messed up her life, and like so many other celebrities, she had people around her who simply didn’t care enough to stop her, or try to stop her.

Yes, she made her decisions and in so doing, she lost the voice, the looks and the talent God gave her.

I get it.

I felt exactly that way when Amy Winehouse died last year. It was her fault and she could well have done something to keep it from happening.

What I didn’t do then and won’t do now, is compare her demise with those who have lost their lives protecting our country, our freedoms and our way of life.

No.

The Emperor’s Latest Decree

When you’re the Emperor, everything either is, or is not, what you say it is or isn’t. You and you alone get to decide what laws will and won’t be defended. You get to ignore court subpoenas. YOU get to decide when Congress is or isn’t in session. The Constitution is something which YOU can ignore and religious organizations with THEIR doctrines and beliefs?

Well, YOU, as the Emperor, get to decide that such things are submissive to YOUR reign.

Why on Earth would the military be any different?

The Emperor was able to declare the end of hostilities in Iraq after all. NOT that hostilities were ACTUALLY over but, the Emperor, upon his coronation, DID promise the serfs that HE would bring those troops home.

Many believe the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq was purely a political move.

Nope.

It was OVER and WE WON the peace SO SAYETH THE EMPEROR SO LET IT BE KNOWN AS TRUE. Never mind the increase in violence, IED bombings and the pesky fact that Iranian agitators are stepping up THEIR attacks in Iraq.

The Emperor said we secured the peace and hostilities had ended.

Now, with “Talks” in the offing with the TALIBAN in Afghanistan, the Emperor looking to release 5 Taliban terror masterminds from Gitmo AS A SHOW OF GOOD FAITH, and the continued killing and wounding of our troops in that theater…

Israel vs Iran – Whose Play Are We Backing?

As allies, Israel and the United States should be so close together one could not slip a single sheet of paper between the two.

In the face of Iranian threats against Israel, that piece of paper should be reduced in thickness by a property of ten and still not fit between the nation of Israel and the United States.

Should we act on behalf of Israel? No. Israel is perfectly capable to act on their own and  they have never once asked us to defend them, act for them or take the lead in their issues.

None the less, we should be there, with them, side by side never flinching, never blinking.

As things now stand, this is not the case.

Last week, in reported comments, Leon Panetta made that abundantly clear.

With Iran, Obama is in WAY Over his Head

Whatever is happening inside Iran, one thing is clear.

Crystal clear.

That is, that whatever is happening inside Iran is completely unclear.

Over the last few weeks, Iran has threatened to shut down the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. has said, OH NO YOU WON’T.

Sanctions have been put in place. More sanctions have been threatened.

Iran has said THEY have started the process of enriching uranium in an underground facility.

Ahmadinejad has been making smiles and nice with Chavez and Castro.

Behind the scenes, we hear reports that Obama and his administration is trying to tell Israel NOT to attack Iran.

We hear reports that Obama and his administration has told China that “we can’t hold Israel off” forever.

Iran is apparently holding and has sentenced to death an American with dual Iranian citizenship because the so called spy was visiting his grandmother yet Iran claims a nuke scientist who was killed in a car bombing was assassinated by the CIA…or Israel…or somebody.

Marines vs Dead Taliban. Guess Who Wins the Pissing Contest?

Okay. So some Marines got caught on video, peeing on the corpses of dead Taliban soldiers.

Okay.

I mean…Okay.

Was it the right thing to do? The moral thing to do?

No.

Should pundits, journalists and others be all wound up over it?

No.

Those who have a problem with it, a real problem, have probably never been shot at by the Taliban. They probably have never  had their friends killed by the Taliban and they probably haven’t had friends permanently disabled by the Taliban either.

Allen West had this to say, in The Weekly Standard, on the matter and as a man who spent 22 years in the Army, I believe he knows exactly what he’s talking about.
