It’s that damned 2nd Amendment isn’t it?
If ONLY there weren’t guns. No guns…no more murders.
That is what socialists WANT you to believe. They are DESPERATE to find a way to make you believe that or, rather, to make just barely enough Americans believe it to wipe out the 2nd Amendment.
So desperate that they will latch onto ANY situation to push their agenda.
Saturday, Jovan Belcher killed his girlfriend and then, drove to the KC Chiefs practice facility, thanked his coaches for all they had done for him and, in front of them, shot and killed himself.
Sunday, during halftime, Bob Costas pushed for gun control.
It was expected…
It was inane…
Costas was so unprepared to make his OWN comments that he had to read from an op-ed written by a former football player.

Costas was NOT the first to react in this manner due to the murder suicide on Saturday.
KC Mayor, Sly James, had this to say:
“This is part of the tragedy of urban living in this country. Handguns all over the place, people blowing themselves away, and others. At some point we have to get a handle on this kind of stuff. We are not doing a good job of it.”
At the time Mayor James uttered those words, he was standing at the KC Chief’s practice facility shortly after Belcher’s suicide. So shortly after that the body wasn’t even cold yet.
So…Are GUNS to blame?
Last Friday, in Casper Wyoming, a crazy man killed his father’s girlfriend with a knife, drove to the community college where his dad was a professor, stormed into his classroom and shot his dad in the head…WITH AN ARROW!!!
The crazed man, in front of students, then drew his KNIFE and stabbed his dad before committing suicide WITH THE KNIFE!!!
Is anyone calling for a ban on compound bows and hunting knives?
Did Bob Costas call for a knife ban in the wake of the Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman murders? I mean, the only real suspect was a former football star. Where was Bob Costas and his moral lecture then?
We’re not exactly sure HOW little Caylee Anthony was killed but, were there any calls to ban plastic bags or pillows or duct tape or bare hands? We ARE pretty sure she was smothered to death and now, we have evidence that SOMEONE Googled for a fool proof way to suffocate someone from the Anthony home on the last day Caylee was ever seen alive.
Every day, victims lose their lives to a plethora of weapons that don’t have triggers and some are high profile cases.
Every day, victims lose their lives to guns too but ONLY when it is a high profile case do we see the all too predictable reaction from socialists. “GUNS ARE BAD. WE NEED TO CONTROL GUNS.”
Guns don’t kill people any more than do knives, plastic bags or bows and arrows. Not on their own.
It’s the people that use them.
The people in whose hands the weapon of choice resides and the culture in which those people have been immersed.
Sadly, the idea that violence solves everything in not a new cultural phenomenon. It’s been around since Cain and Able. What’s different now is that it’s more pervasive and more trivial.
By trivial I mean that the smallest thing is now fodder for the greatest violence.
Yesterday, friends and family of Jovan Belcher turned his home in Long Island NY into something of a shrine to…HIM. I have no idea why? HE was the INSTRUMENT of this tragic ending. HE committed MURDER before he took his own life and yet…HE is the HERO and deserves some sort of SHRINE???
Oh yes…I forgot…It was the GUN’S fault.
In the Jovan Belcher case, we know have reports that Belcher was upset that his girlfriend came home late the night before from a concert.
Well THAT complicates things doesn’t it Mr. Costas?
Was it the CONCERT that caused all this? Was it the FRIENDS with whom she went TO the concert? Perhaps it was some place they went AFTER the concert that is to blame.
What if Jovan Belcher didn’t own a gun and yes, he had a permit according to reports but, what if he DIDN’T own a gun? Costas quotes an op-ed that states, without a shred of doubt, that both Belcher and his girlfriend would be alive today had there NOT been a gun involved.
Really? We know that for SURE???
OJ didn’t have a gun. Casey Anthony didn’t have one either. The archer in Casper Wyoming didn’t need bullets.
Who is to say that WITHOUT a gun, Belcher would not have chosen the next closest weapon?
But…according to Costas and the socialist ilk…People would be alive today were it not for guns.
Excuse me but…Here is what that hypocritical ilk doesn’t want to tell you.
In 2011, there were 14,612 murders in the United States according to FBI statistics.
14,612.
Not all of those were carried out with guns but, let’s just say they were and furthermore, although certainly not the case, let’s say each was carried out by someone who owned a registered firearm.
Okay? So, for the sake of argument that’s 14,612 GUN related MURDERS committed by REGISTERED GUN OWNERS in 2011.
Got that?
Okay…NOW compare THAT number to THIS number…
1,500,000 to 2,000,000.
That’s 1.5 MILLION to 2 MILLION…Abortions every single year.
The exact same people who want to do away with the 2nd Amendment…Remove guns from the hands of the people…The exact same people who will sit on national television during halftime of a KC Chiefs football game and tell YOU that had there been no gun, Belcher and his girlfriend would be alive today…
WILL STAND UP AT THEIR NATIONAL CONVENTION AND ADVOCATE IN FAVOR OF ABORTION.
Did up to 2 million unborn babies come home late from a concert this year? Were they playing their music too loud? Were they wearing shoes that somebody else wanted? Did they get into some sort of argument? Were they walking on the wrong side of the street? Did they have a different view of life or a different ideology? Did they owe somebody money?
Nope.
Socialists would rather take away guns than remove the instruments of abortions from those who perform them.
Bob Costas has presented himself as a vapid mouthpiece for socialist ideology by quoting the words of someone else and in doing so, proved the hypocrisy of left.
Here is what Costas SHOULD have said and while he has another opportunity at next week’s halftime to do so, I rather doubt he will seize the moment:
“Had it not been for Jovan Belcher, his girlfriend may well be alive today and were it not for legalized abortion, up to 2 million more babies would have been born this year.”

Bob, you have the right to be an idiot. The first admendment gives you that right. The same bill of rights that gives you the right to free speech also gives me the right of self defense. I love football but I love my freedom more. As of today I have encouraged everyone I know to do what I am going to do and that is not watch any football for the rest of the season. I hope all good Americans will also do this. Gun owners are not like the federal government and give our money to those who don’t support our freedoms. The freedom to speak you mind also gives me the right to not watch you because I don’t like what you stand for.

I watched Megan Kelly ask an NFL official about gun violence…and no one mentioned the bow and knife killings in Wyoming…or the Simpson-Goldman killings…or the one where six people in a family were all killed by a knife wielding druggy. Maybe they should ban cars because of DUI deathes caused by drunk drivers or people driving their cars into water and drowning. There was also a suicide at the Cleveland Brown’s practice field.
He had a chance to make a statement about reaching out and getting help if you are thinking about committing suicide or other mental health issues. But he decided to make it about the big bad evil guns.
The real sad thing is a three month old baby doesn’t have a mother and a farther now.
