What I am about to relate in this commentary highlights the self-imposed political suicide of the party of liberals, and the examples I provide in this commentary will become more and more glaringly hard-hitting and devastating to liberal hopes and dreams for 2026 and beyond. Using the examples in this commentary…all of them…should be the blueprint for Republican candidates moving forward.
With the 2026 midterm election a scant nine months out, and the 2028 general election looming in the wings, candidates and/or potential candidates arejockeying for position. Obviously, when it comes to midterms there are certain historic markers that always get pointed to at this juncture of the fray.
The party in power is generally considered the underdog in midterm elections. Not always, but generally and there are reasons for that trend. Typically, midterm election voter turnout is much lower than is general election turnout. Voters just don’t get excited when the big-ticket item, the presidency, isn’t on the line.
There is also another key factor…independent voters. Those voters not affiliated with either of the two major parties hold somewhat more sway in a midterm election specifically due to the low turnout from registered democrats or republicans. Independent voters are more fickle than are voters from the two major parties and they also tend to want change for the sake of change rather than change based on policy.
That said, there is also something else that could override the change for the sake of change independent voters, and that thing is common sense.
Independent voters may not be all wrapped up in general aspects of a midterm election, such as “it’s the economy, stupid” isn’t their deciding factor, but let one major party or the other base their policies on bat-crap crazy agenda items, and many independent voters will either side with the party of common sense, or they’ll just stay home.
Here’s what I’m talking about.
Why are liberals, especially those running for office so afraid of answering a few simple questions?
Can men get pregnant?
Should men or boys be allowed to compete in sports against women and girls?
What is a man, and what is a woman?
There are not tough questions. These are not the sort of questions that require deep thought or convoluted answers. These are straight forward, black and white questions that do not demand grey area responses.
Are liberals really too stupid to know the answers? Are they confused by the simplicity of the questions? No. They know the answers. In fact, they have known the answers since they were old enough to start asking questions. Liberals are neither confused by the questions nor are they ignorant of the subject matter.
They are cowards who have scattered political landmines all around themselves while being blindfolded and spun around in circles and now they are terrified to take a step in any direction lest they blow themselves to smithereens.
If democrat candidates answer the questions honestly with the obvious common sense responses…no, men can’t get pregnant, no men and boys should not be allowed on women’s sports, and both men and women can be clearly, and scientifically defined…they will alienate their base voters whom they have indoctrinated with their absurd current positions, and who have heavily invested themselves in defending the absurdity of those positions. On the other hand, if they remain attached to and continue their advocacy for their current absurdities, they will alienate the independent voters who prefer common sense and honesty.
They are doomed if they do, and doomed if they don’t.
While the whole “trans” set of cultural issues, and nonsense promoted by liberals should be a huge factor heading into upcoming elections, it is by far not the only aspect Republican candidates should be drawing attention to as the campaign season heats up.
Suffering from stage four Trump Derangement Syndrome, the party of liberals has transparently aligned itself with the 20% or 10% of each and every 80-20 or 90-10 issue in political discourse. Let’s look at law and order. For the past two decades, the party of liberals has been decidedly anti law enforcement. They have rioted and burned cities, destroyed property and openly called for “defunding the police.” Meanwhile, the Republican Party…the party of common sense…has stood solidly in favor of law and order, the rule of law, and in support of law enforcement officers.
While the party of liberals insists that criminals, and especially violent criminals be turned loose from jails and prisons to return to their lives of crime on the streets, victims in our nation’s cities and towns are paying the price…many suffering loss of life and limb. Meanwhile, the Republican party alone decries the lawlessness, demands safer neighborhoods and berates those who, due to their liberal politics, turn blind eyes to the destruction of property and lives.
If the party of liberals were to suddenly reverse course, and adopt a common sense approach to keep our cities and towns safer from violence, death and destruction by supporting law enforcement and doing away with liberal judges who bang the gavel to release the violent dregs of society into the general population rather than keeping them locked behind bars…what happens? They will alienate their indoctrinated, invested in protecting criminal behavior over protecting law-abiding citizens base. However, if the party of liberals continues to advocate for criminals and against the rule of law…they alienate the independent voters.
They have left themselves no way out of the minefield they, themselves built all around themselves.
How about big government?
The party of liberals has spent years defending big government, more government intrusion into the daily lives of people and higher and higher taxation to fund what we now know to be either wasteful, or corrupt programs at home, and abroad. The party of liberals has gone to great lengths to both propagate and cover-up said corruption at every level, from USAID to funneling U.S. taxpayer dollars into states like Minnesota and California where it can then be laundered and shipped to foreign countries and foreign advisories, with what sure appears to be possible kick-backs flowing into the pockets of corrupt politicians and corrupt judicial entities.
While the Republican Party has done grand work to expose such corruption, waste and fraud, and while the Republican Party has gone to great lengths to hold those responsible for it accountable, the party of liberals has and continues to defend every aspect of the waste, fraud and corruption.
If the party of liberals were to suddenly stand up against waste, fraud and corruption, against the growth of government for things that provide zero benefit to the American taxpayers who have been the victims of theft from their bank accounts, what happens? If the party of liberals maintains their steadfast adherence to defending the cover-ups and the use of taxpayer monies for their own self-agrandizement, what happens?
Ka-BOOM. The landmines are everywhere.
Now then, before I get to the real bombshell which should be dropped into the liberal minefield, let me just touch on a few other examples of how the party of liberals has no escape path from their own pit of desperation.
Identity politics has severely limited the potential size of the liberal tent. Liberals have spent nearly 50 years denigrating men, and now they have spent $20 million dollars hoping to learn how to talk to men to lure them back. Liberals have pretended to be the party of women, and now they claim to not be able to even define what a woman is. Liberals have long claimed to be the “party of the people,” and yet now, on a daily basis, they take great delight in showing off how elitist they are. The former party of “free speech” has become the party of censorship. The liberal party that used to champion individual rights has now become the party of government mandates, government control, the collective over the individual and government reliance over individual responsibility.
When the party of liberals advocates heavily for socialism, and they obviously do today, rather than for the all too obvious benefits of capitalism and advancement through hard work, merit and self-reliance…bigger government and entitlement to what others have earned…not only do they alienate the independent voters, but they also alienate the working class, middle class and job creator class in the process.
And how about patriotism?
10 years ago, Colin Kaepernick decided to end his NFL career by taking a knee during the National Anthem, and the party of liberals seized the moment to launch their anti-American campaign, Anyone who showed patriotism was canceled, and it escalated into full-blown anti-patriotism at levels never before imagined. It became an outward hatred of everything American…but the party of liberals are now in deep trouble regarding that vile behavior.
Just over a week ago, on the frozen tundra of Soldier Field in Chicago, the L.A. Rams faced the Chicago Bears. Two teams from deep blue cities in deep blue states where the upside down agenda of liberals festers like a boil on the buttocks of politics. Before the game, as is always the case, the National Anthem was performed where the Governors of both represented states hope to gain the 2028 nomination of their party of liberals, but what happened should serve as a air raid siren to the liberal party. Watch the video, and remember…for the past decade, this performance and everything that goes with it would have been the subject of liberal scorn by the players and fans involved.
If that video doesn’t prove that liberals have already lost the battle for the heart and soul of our great nation, especially as we prepare to celebrate the 250th birthday of our great nation…I don’t know what does.
And finally…illegal immigration.
In 2015, Barack Hussein Obama presented his ICE Chief with the Presidential Rank Award for his work leading ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations. The Presidential Rank Award if you are unfamiliar, honors high-performing senior career employees for “sustained extraordinary accomplishment.” In 2013, that ICE Chief had completed full nationwide deployment of an original automated federal biometric information sharing capability that resulted in the removal of more than 325,000 criminal illegal aliens, of which 40 percent were convicted of an aggravated felony or multiple felonies. In 2014, that ICE Chief removed nearly 316,000 individuals from the United States. An astounding 98 percent of these removals fell within one of ICE’s stated enforcement priorities. Nearly 56 percent, or 177,960 of those removed, were convicted criminal illegal aliens. In fact, over the 3 years that ICE Chief served at the pleasure of Barack Hussein Obama, he removed more than 920,000 illegal aliens from the United States. In that same time frame, ERO arrested and removed 534,000 criminal illegal aliens and for that work, Obama bestowed upon him the Presidential Rank Award.
In 2025, President Trump’s ICE Chief oversaw 622,000 deported and 1,900,000 self-deportations, and the party of liberals, whose messiah, Obama championed his ICE Chief now calls Trump’s ICE Chief a Nazi, and ICE itself…the Gestapo.
Here’s the bombshell dropping into the liberal minefield…same guy. Same Ice Chief.
Tom Homan.
The same party of liberals that honored and respected Tom Homan is now violently vile toward Tom Homan. Same guy, same job. Same results. What changed? We went from a president who hated his country to one who loves our country, and the party of liberals, suffering from stage 4 Trump Derangement Syndrome are too heavily invested in being against everything Trump, and Republicans are in favor of to realize that they have left themselves no way out of their own political minefield.
If they suddenly try to get on the right side of the 80-20 or 90-10 issues they’ll alienate their base, and if they stick to the current platform, they’ll alienate the independent voters.
They’re doomed if they do…and doomed if they don’t.
