The Save America Act has liberals, from the mainstream media to elected office along with indoctrinated propaganda parrots all squawking the same talking points and none of them care how foolish they sound doing it.
“Voter ID will keep women from voting!!”
“Voter ID is RACIST!!”
Oh, there are different versions of the same old tired BS talking points, but essentially it all leads back to liberal nincompoopery, and it is because they are desperate and lack any facts. Not only that, but they are being hyper hypocritical as well.
Back in 1996, Chuckles Schumer was arguing in FAVOR of voter ID in order to prevent fraud. Back then, Chuckles said, “Let’s admit the truth, everywhere people go they’re asked for a Social Security card. In fact, one way to prove you’re a bona fide person who can have a job is to ask for a driver’s license and a Social Security card. This is an anti-fraud amendment.” He went so far as to call having to present voter ID to be able to vote, “Common sense.”
Now, 30 years later, the very same Chuckles Schumer says, “We will not let it pass in the Senate. We are fighting it tooth and nail. It’s an outrageous proposal… They don’t want poor people to vote. They don’t want people of color to vote because they often don’t vote for them.” Last week, Chuckles went so far as to call the Save America Act, “Jim Crow 2.0. What they’re trying to do here is the same thing that was done in the South for decades, to prevent people of color from voting.”
That would be astounding if it wasn’t coming from the liberal side of the aisle, but because it is…it is par for the course.
Back in 2009…not that long ago in the political scheme of things, the very same Chuckles Schumer said, “Illegal immigration is wrong, plain and simple,” and asserted that until the American people were convinced that future flows of illegal immigration would be stopped, “we will make no progress on dealing with the millions of illegal immigrants who are here now”.
Schumer went so far back in 2009 to state, “People who enter the United States without our permission are illegal aliens and illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who enter the us legally.”
Now, Schumer says “The only way we’re going to have a great future in America is if we welcome and embrace immigrants – the Dreamers and all of them, because our ultimate goal is to help the Dreamers but [also] to get a path to citizenship for all 11 million or however many undocumented there are here.”
Schumer isn’t the only liberal to have switched sides on the issue of illegal aliens and he’s certainly not the only liberal who has switched sides on voter ID, and while the two issues are somewhat different, they both have the same roots where liberalism is concerned. Liberalism requires illegal aliens, and while in the big picture, not very many illegal aliens have been caught voting, they are counted in the census which determines how many House seats each district gets. That’s why so many blue cities and blue states are illegal alien sanctuary cities and states…illegal aliens are safe there, and get counted in the census thus providing more House seats for liberal districts and states.
While the SAVE Act won’t stop the census fraud, it should go a long way towards stopping any illegal alien from voting. But is the SAVE Act racist? No. It requires that ALL voters, regardless of race prove they are who they claim to be AND that they are indeed U.S. citizens.
So, what is needed for a voter to provide said proof? Acceptable forms of proof for voter registration would include a REAL ID that demonstrates U.S. citizenship – most of which do not – as well as a U.S. passport, a U.S. military identification card or a birth certificate. While I agree that not everybody has a U.S. passport, any U.S. citizen can get one, but every person born IN the U.S. has a birth certificate. Here’s something else that shows that you are a U.S. citizen…your I-9 form from your employer.
Liberals are now trying to claim that getting a U.S. passport for ID purposes is a poll tax because it costs $130.00, but is it really? No, because it is not the ONLY form of acceptable ID required by the SAVE America Act. If you don’t know where your birth certificate is, that’s not the government’s fault, that’s the fault of your faulty document handling.
Liberals like Schumer claim voter ID will disenfranchise minority voters, but how do minority voters feel about voter ID? According to a recent CNN poll…they overwhelmingly approve of the idea.
Liberals also claim that those poll results indicate that minority voters simply don’t understand what the SAVE America Act requires.
Save the fake virtue-signaling…it’s coming from the exact same party that said of Obamacare…”You have to pass the bill to find out what’s in the bill.”
The other line of nonsense being spewed by the liberals is that many minority voters aren’t able, or capable of getting photo ID’s, which I’m sure comes as quite a surprise to all the minority people in the U.S. who already HAVE such ID’s. In fact, here is the list of all the countries on Earth that REQUIRE a voter ID to cast a ballot…including those who sport what in our country would be those of a “minority” skin color.
Okay, now let me address the issue of women and voter ID.
Liberals, like Chuckles Schumer are claiming that requiring voter ID will prevent women from voting. Primarily married women who have taken their husband’s name since it no longer matches the name on their birth certificate. Interesting. I wonder how many married women in the U.S. have a U.S. passport. NONE…if you believe liberals, but we all know that’s not true. PLENTY of married women in the U.S. have passports, and again, that isn’t the sole document you need.
Congressman Chip Roy, out of Texas, says…“The legislation provides a myriad [of] ways for people to prove citizenship and explicitly directs States to establish a process for individuals to register to vote if there are discrepancies in their proof of citizenship documents due to something like a name change.” Roy went on to state, “each State shall establish a process under which an applicant can provide such additional documentation to the appropriate election official of the State as may be necessary to establish that the applicant is a citizen of the United States in the event of a discrepancy with respect to the applicant’s documentary proof of United States citizenship.”
Naturally, liberals like to toss up roadblocks whenever something stands in the way of their potential fraud, and here is one of those roadblocks, “In addition to married women, any eligible voter who has changed their names for myriad other reasons (related to marriage or divorce, a gender identity transition, a change based on personal preference, etc.) could face heightened barriers to vote if the SAVE Act were enacted due to their lack of birth certificate that reflects their current legal name.”
So…outside of marital status, if you’re pretending to be someone you’re not, it might make it harder to prove who you are. Well, who caused THAT speed bump?
For the past decade, liberals have claimed not to be able to define what a woman is, and now…suddenly…what they claim not to be able to define could be unable to vote if they have to prove they’re U.S. citizens. Now, liberals are the CHAMPIONS of what they are unable to define?
Liberals who demand that an indefinable human entity MUST become the President of the United States are NOW claiming that women aren’t capable of doing a little paperwork but ARE capable of running our country?
Liberals make it sound impossible for women who have changed their name due to marriage, or minorities to obtain proper documents for voting under the SAVE Act which simply isn’t true. Liberals say requiring a valid ID to vote is racist or disenfranchising to both women and minorities. Again, park that dead horse outside and quit flogging it…it was the party of liberals that disenfranchised every single one of their own voters by APPOINTING Kamala Harris as their 2024 nominee after their voters VOTED for Joe Biden.
There really is only one reason liberals don’t want voter ID…and that is so they can continue to find ways to game the system and cheat in elections. They know that their policies are wildly unpopular, and only by creating or maintaining a system by which fraud can be employed, can they hope to win elections. That said, I believe further steps toward locking out voter fraud, such as early and late voting, voter registration on election day, mail in ballots except for military or for those incapable of leaving the house need to be taken.
And for liberals crying about “the Constitution doesn’t say anything about voter ID,” note that the Constitution, in 2 U.S. Code § 7 DOES say “The Tuesday next after the 1st Monday in November, in every even numbered year, is established as the day for the election, in each of the States and Territories of the United States, of Representatives and Delegates to the Congress commencing on the 3d day of January next thereafter.” That’s ONE day…not a week, not two weeks, not a month…ONE DAY.
Let me just be clear…the party that is desperately trying to find something wrong with voter ID is the same party that REQUIRES photo ID to gain entry into their convention and erected fences AROUND their convention site to keep unwanted people OUT. The same Party trying to desperately KILL a voter ID bill…is the same party that has no problem with being required to show a proper ID just to get into the U.S. Capitol Building to vote AGAINST the voter ID bill.
And the exact same party that screams RACISM and NAZI at any Republican who is in favor of VOTER ID…is also the same party that MANDATED COVID-19 PASSPORTS be shown to be out in public just a few short years ago.
Let me put it this way…in order to apply for SNAP (food stamps), Section 8, or Medicaid, you must prove your identity, your residency, you’re your Social Security Number. The most common identification documents used to do that include a driver’s license, a state photo ID card, a U.S. passport, a birth certificate, or a military ID. The application process also requires verification of household income, expenses, and immigration status for non-citizens.
Now…according to liberals, neither women nor minorities in this country are able, of capable of applying for SNAP, Section 8, or Medicaid because the required forms of ID to do so are the exact same as would be required by the SAVE Act regarding voter ID.
One last thought…if you plan to vote for those who are telling you that you’re not smart enough to obtain proper ID…maybe, just maybe you really are to dumb to vote.
