An Egregious Step

By Craig Andresen on March 24, 2011

In case you’ve been wondering if or doubtful of Obama instituting a new world order, NWO, speculation has just come to a screeching halt. The NOW is here and it starts right now.

Obama has effectively ceded our national interests and security to the United Nations and one week after putting into place a no-fly zone over Libya he has now handed control of OUR military in THAT theater over to a 28 nation committee called NATO.

Yes it’s true that NATO military ops are commanded by an American but that American is constricted by the committee of nations. Make no mistake, the United States is NOT controlling OUR military in the skies over Libya. As ground forces will surely be called for (in fact there have been special ops on the ground in Libya for 3 weeks even though Obama has stated there will be NO ground forces sent to Libya…he lied)  one wonders how long they will be in theater before THEY too are placed in the hands of NATO.

End Game or Game Over

By Craig Andresen on March 22, 2011

Earlier, I wrote and posted pieces on the entitlement mentality of liberals and Obama’s Middle East policy unmasked. This piece, by combining aspects of both those previous entries, paints a bleak picture of the possible end game scenario.

First, let’s go back to the uprising in Egypt. It took more than a week before Obama said a word about that uprising once it began. When he did, he and other members of the administration seemed at odds over the message but eventually managed to settle on one talking point; Mubarak must go. It didn’t take long before Obama spoke publicly about the Muslim Brotherhood and how he felt they should have a seat at the table in forming a new Egyptian government.

The Entitlement Mentality of Liberals

By Craig Andresen on March 17, 2011

The term “Entitlement mentality” has been used often over the years by republicans to describe democrats. It is not just a coined phrase. It is more than just based in reality. It is a stone cold harsh truth.

Before the Obama administration, the term “entitlement mentality” flew mostly below the radar. It was used in interviews and more often than not in debate or discussions when the conservative combatant wanted to level a charge against an opponent. It was a buzz phrase…a lightning rod of sorts. That is no longer the case. This administration has embraced the entitlement mentality and taken it from a footnote to center stage.

Obama’s Policy Unmasked

By Craig Andresen on March 15, 2011

As the Middle East continues to fall into a state of mass despair and as our gas prices continue to rise, many have asked; What IS our policy in the region? It’s not only a valid question…it’s a darn good one too.

It started in Tunisia when their government toppled after a popular uprising. The Obama administration seemed to be caught flat footed. Giving the benefit of the doubt, it DID happen quickly and the build-up was pretty quiet. What appeared to be a situation of being unaware probably was just that. Honestly. I don’t think anybody saw it coming.

Par for the Course?

By Craig Andresen on March 14, 2011

Over the years, many people have questioned the number of “vacations” or trips, our president’s take. Usually, those doing the questioning are of the opposite part as the sitting president. That is to be expected and that said, the question again begs to be answered. Is Obama taking too many days off and or too many trips?

I have no problem with a president who from time to time, takes a few days to get away from Washington. Arguably, the job is the most difficult on earth. Presidents have always taken working vacations just to recharge the mental batteries. Camp David, the ranch, the Vineyard, Kennebunkport all have been, in recent history, the favorite retreats for presidents. They go, relax and work away from the confines of the oval office, entertain foreign leaders, run the affairs of state and clear their heads. I’m okay with that. I get it.

Obama on the other hand seems to have elevated the practice to a level which defies rational explanation. During the first year of his presidency, Obama went from country to country on what many on the right deemed the apology tour. It seemed that no sooner would he get back from apologizing for the greatness of America in one overseas destination, he would be off to another to extend our apologies to another. Bowing to this leader and scraping to that one, on and on it went. Now, one COULD claim that these trips were diplomatic in nature but, I challenge them to point to what, exactly, was gained by it all. Those who liked us BEFORE the “We’re sorry we’re great” world tour still liked us and those who didn’t…still don’t.

Proof of Evolution of the Liberal Gene

By Patty Ewing Robichaud on March 8, 2011

Perhaps you heard the big brouhaha when a Liberal Gene was discovered by science and announced in October 2010. (See the Science Daily story here.)

I have also pondered the similarities between Jimmy Carter and Barak Obama in their “leadership” style and above average liberalism.

Well, after many hours of researching and cocktailing, I have had my EUREKA moment!

I shared my brilliant (yet slurred) insight with a family member and he found photographic proof of not only the evolution of the liberal gene – but of the evolution of those possessing it. It clearly began with the great apes – the ones who would steal a banana from one clan mate to give to another…

But I digress…

Leadership Lost

By Craig Andresen on March 7, 2011

As the violence in Libya moves into its third week with Gadiffi continuing to use his weapons of war against his own people, the Obama administration continues to duck its responsibility. The world wonders why? So do I.

There was a time when the world looked to Washington in times of trouble the likes of which we now see in Libya. They looked for leadership, for action and for the protection of those who reached out for freedom. The United States stood for and WITH freedom. Seemingly and sadly, that is no longer the case.
