“There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping
the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before
the public. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his
grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a
certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to
get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only
an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through
which to make themselves prominent before the public..”

Seer, Soothsayer?
A man with an all too uncommon sense of common sense?
Booker T. Washington was not only right, he was foretelling the future.
In the wake of the Trayvon Martin “event” in Florida, we now have a plethora of fools trying to cash in on the tragedy.
Booker T. may as well have been talking directly about Jesse Jackson and/or Al Sharpton. These guys, and others like them, are tragedy chasers. They run hither and yon, hop scotching about the country, and occasionally overseas, attaching themselves to one tragic event after another but…only where the victims look like them, from a distance.
