Trump – All Sound Bite and No Substance

oht 1There can be no two people happier about Donald Trump’s empty rhetoric this week than Obama and Hillary Clinton and while Trump continues to grin like the cat that swallowed the media canary, people who should care about real issues are being bamboozled.

For once, Obama doesn’t even have to concoct a distraction…Trump is handling that for him.

Was Trump right to state that we should put a temporary ban on Muslim immigration and employ profiling to minimize future jihadis entering our nation?

Yes, but he missed the key reason why…that being that we are engaged in a war against an ideology and not a religion as Islam is the former and not the latter but Trump has not explained himself and why should he? His Trumpers are eating it up and the media is talking about nothing else.

There’s a reason for that and I suspect Trump has been paying a staff to do nothing but look at social media to discern what Conservatives are calling for. Notice how Trump has yet to put forth an original idea. He takes whatever is the hot-button topic of the week and puffs himself up over it spewing rhetoric with no substance behind it.

Build a wall…make Mexico pay for it.

Weekend Edition: Benghazi – 5 Months Of Treason

“I gave three very clear directives. Number one, make sure we are securing our personnel and that we are doing whatever we need to. Number two, we are going to investigate exactly what happened and make sure it doesn’t happen again. Number three, find out who did this so we can bring them to justice.”

Those are the words of Obama regarding his orders on the evening of September 11th 2012 and the attack on the Consulate in Benghazi.

“Make sure we are securing our personnel and that we are doing whatever we need to.”

This is a claim Obama has made over and over again.

Now…let me take you to the direct testimony, under oath, of Leon Panetta and General Dempsey just a couple of days ago.

SEN. GRAHAM: Your testimony, as I understand it, Secretary Panetta, that you talked to the president of the United States one time.
SEC. PANETTA: I talked to him on Sept. 11 with regards to the fact that we were aware this attack was taking place.
SEN. GRAHAM: One time.
SEC. PANETTA: Right.
SEN. GRAHAM: What time did you tell him that?
SEC. PANETTA: I think that was approximately about 5 o’clock?
GEN. DEMPSEY: Yeah, about 5 o’clock.
SEC. PANETTA: About 5 o’clock.
SEN. GRAHAM: General Dempsey, did you ever talk to the president of the United States at all?
GEN. DEMPSEY: I was with the secretary when — at that same time.
SEN. GRAHAM: Did you talk to the president?
GEN. DEMPSEY: Yes.
SEN. GRAHAM: You talked to him how many times.
GEN. DEMPSEY: The same — one time.
SEN. GRAHAM: How long did the conversation last?
GEN. DEMPSEY: We were there in the office for probably 30 minutes.
SEN. GRAHAM: So you talked to him for 30 minutes, one time, and you never talked to him again, either one of you.
GEN. DEMPSEY: Until afterwards.
SEN. GRAHAM: Until after the attack was over.
GEN. DEMPSEY: That’s right.
SEN. GRAHAM: Thank you.

Let that sink in. Read it again if you need to and let it sink in deep.

Weekend Edition: Remembering The Hero of Benghazi

Somewhere in the home of Charles Woods there is an American Flag.

That Flag has been crisply folded, by United States Marines, into a triangle.

Only the stars are showing.

Most likely, that folded Flag is in a frame. It might be made of oak or, perhaps walnut.

Charles Woods may have placed that Flag where it can be seen by all who enter his home or, he may have placed it in a more private place. A study or a home office.

Make no mistake though. That Flag is there.

For the rest of his life, Charles Woods will have that Flag but not his son.

American Flags, crisply folded by United States Marines are for Heroes.

I suspect, like most Heroes, Tyrone Woods would not use that label to describe himself.

Tyrone Woods would, most likely, tell you he was just doing his job.

What job was Tyrone Woods doing when he earned that crisply folded Flag?

Weekend Edition: IT WAS TREASON – Arrest Obama

Last Thursday, I wrote an article titled, “Obama & Libya – A Case Study in Treason” and in that article I stated, “When a president fails to lift a finger to protect Americans, at home or abroad, in the face of overwhelming intelligence and evidence, by ignoring obvious warning signs and the advice of those entrusted to offer such protection…”

“It is treason.”

I meant every word and yes, I am well aware of the weight of the word, “treason.”

I do not nor have I ever used it lightly. I see that word bandied about on social media and while I understand full well the passion of those who use it, I rarely, if ever, believe that the issues to which it is applied, truly rise to that level.

This situation, in Libya, I am convinced…Does.

To explain, let’s first look at the legal definition and it’s context within our Constitution.

Definition of Treason in the Constitution:

“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.”

Legal Definition of Treason:

The betrayal of one’s own country by waging war against it or by consciously or purposely acting to aid its enemies.

Under Article III, Section 3, of the Constitution:

Any person who levies war against the United States or adheres to its enemies by giving them Aid and Comfort has committed treason within the meaning of the Constitution. The term aid and comfort refers to any act that manifests a betrayal of allegiance to the United States, such as furnishing enemies with arms, troops, transportation, shelter, or classified information. If a subversive act has any tendency to weaken the power of the United States to attack or resist its enemies, aid and comfort has been given.

Day by day…Nearly hour by hour, we learn more about what transpired in Benghazi on 9-11-12.

Yesterday, we learned a truly horrific truth.
