20 Questions with Congressman Allen West

Yesterday, The National Patriot spent some quality time with Congressman Allen West.

We cannot thank the Congressman enough for taking the time from his always busy schedule to speak with us regarding a wide range of issues. We would also like to thank Communications Director, Angela Sachitano,  in Congressman West’s office for all her help in arranging this exclusive interview.

In part 2, I ask Congressman West about the National Defense Authorization Act and, as always, Congressman West answers in a straight forward manner and quotes from the bill itself. This has become one of the most contentious issues of the last several weeks and one on which many have been misinformed.

Once again, we Thank Congressman Allen West.

Please enjoy, “20 Questions” with Congressman Allen West!!

CAIN SUSPENDS CAMPAIGN

Today, as I predicted last Wednesday, November 30th,in an article titled “Cain Train Derailed” – Herman Cain has bowed out of the 2012 presidential campaign. In a speech today from Atlanta, Cain cited the emotional toll taken on his family as one of the factors in his decision.

Cain, in “suspending” his campaign, did so in what can only be described as the best possible way given the circumstances. He has moved on to plan B.

This new Cain plan will keep his name and his 9-9-9 plan in the public eye and will work, as he says, toward the day when someone from outside the beltway, completely outside the beltway, can and will become the president.

Cain called the allegations which many see as the direct cause of the derailment of the Cain train, false and unproven but hurtful. Hurtful to his wife, hurtful to his family, hurtful to him and hurtful to his supporters.

A Progressive March to the Brink of Self Destruction

The election of 2012 will be the – THE – most important election in our 235-year history. We’ve heard this said and while many agree, I believe it needs context. To say an election is THE most important, one really needs to know which previous election set the standard.

To do that, I believe we must go back and have a look at the election of 1860.

It was the 1860 election which gave us President Lincoln – but it was what led to that momentous moment which makes the 1860 election so important and to this day, the most…MOST important we have ever seen.

We all know that slavery was the…THE issue in that election but few people know why. Of course there are the known factors in that slavery was wrong, the south wanted it, the north did not and the divide would lead to civil war – but what was it which lit the fuse?

To be frank, it was the Kansas–Nebraska Act.

In 1854, that Act, which replaced the Missouri Compromise, was written by and pushed to passage by Lincoln’s future opponent Stephen Douglas.

The Case For Newt Gingrich

Taking this country back, saving this country, turning it around and restoring its place in the world cannot be done through legislation alone. It cannot rely solely on the repeal of unwanted prior legislation nor can it be accomplished only by the excising of useless government waste.

Yes, these things are necessary but if that is to be the end game, we shall remain lost.

As a nation we need something more.

We need a leader which is something we frankly are missing right now. We need a leader with experience but that experience can’t be found only in a board room or, for that matter, only in elected office. The leadership we need to correct the course is a combination of those things but to stop there would leave us short of the goal.

This nation, to right the ship, correct the wrongs and climb back into prosperity must find a leader with the X factor.

We Were Americans Once

I remember a time, it wasn’t so long ago, when a touchdown was scored, back patting, helmet slapping, jumping up and down and high fives were expected. Yes, even in high school. It was a score and it was exciting and the players were elated.

A while back, in a high school game, a player scored, dropped to one knee and pointed toward the night sky.  He was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct and his team assessed a 15-yard penalty on the kickoff.

Unsportsmanlike conduct  for recognizing God. I’m not sure when taking a knee in the end zone and pointing to the heavens became unsportsmanlike but I do know this…

We were Americans once.

Mt. Obama is Rumbling

As conservatives, there is a question to which we must seek an answer. Have we been wasting our time trying to bring down this current administration? Liberals will no doubt believe we’ve seen the light if we answer yes and a chorus of “I told you so” will ring loudly from the left.

So, HAVE we been wasting time and effort? It would seem that maybe…MAYBE we have. Happy liberals rejoice.

Ummm…not so fast.

We MAY have been wasting our time because it is now beginning to seem like we didn’t need to help. This administration is starting to bring itself down, crumbling before our eyes, imploding. Stand back…the debris field is gonna be huge!
