Heroes and Martyrs…We All Have Them

The event took place on January 23, 1945, near Tettingen, Germany.

Master Sergeant Oresko’s official Medal of Honor citation was read to him on October 30th 1945 by  Harry S. Truman.

M/Sgt. Oresko was a platoon leader with Company C, in an attack against strong enemy positions. Deadly automatic fire from the flanks pinned down his unit. Realizing that a machinegun in a nearby bunker must be eliminated, he swiftly worked ahead alone, braving bullets which struck about him, until close enough to throw a grenade into the German position. He rushed the bunker and, with pointblank rifle fire, killed all the hostile occupants who survived the grenade blast. Another machinegun opened up on him, knocking him down and seriously wounding him in the hip. Refusing to withdraw from the battle, he placed himself at the head of his platoon to continue the assault. As withering machinegun and rifle fire swept the area, he struck out alone in advance of his men to a second bunker. With a grenade, he crippled the dug-in machinegun defending this position and then wiped out the troops manning it with his rifle, completing his second self-imposed, 1-man attack. Although weak from loss of blood, he refused to be evacuated until assured the mission was successfully accomplished. Through quick thinking, indomitable courage, and unswerving devotion to the attack in the face of bitter resistance and while wounded, M/Sgt. Oresko killed 12 Germans, prevented a delay in the assault, and made it possible for Company C to obtain its objective with minimum casualties.

The event took place on On September 8, 2009, near the village of Ganjgal, Afghanistan.

Corporal Dakota L. Myer’s official Medal of Honor citation was read to him on September 15th, 2011, by Barack Hussein Obama.

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the repeated risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty as a member of Marine Embedded Training Team 2-8, Regional Corps Advisory Command 3-7, in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, on 8 September 2009. When the forward element of his combat team began to be hit by intense fire from roughly 50 Taliban insurgents dug-in and concealed on the slopes above Ganjgal village, Corporal Meyer mounted a gun-truck, enlisted a fellow Marine to drive, and raced to attack the ambushers and aid the trapped Marines and Afghan soldiers. During a six hour fire fight, Corporal Meyer single-handedly turned the tide of the battle, saved 36 Marines and soldiers and recovered the bodies of his fallen brothers. Four separate times he fought the kilometer up into the heart of a deadly U-shaped ambush. During the fight he killed at least eight Taliban, personally evacuated 12 friendly wounded, and provided cover for another 24 Marines and soldiers to escape likely death at the hands of a numerically superior and determined foe. On his first foray his lone vehicle drew machine gun, mortar, rocket grenade and small arms fire while he rescued five wounded soldiers. His second attack disrupted the enemy’s ambush and he evacuated four more wounded Marines. Switching to another gun-truck because his was too damaged they again sped in for a third time, and as turret gunner killed several Taliban attackers at point blank range and suppressed enemy fire so 24 Marines and soldiers could break-out. Despite being wounded, he made a fourth attack with three others to search for missing team members. Nearly surrounded and under heavy fire he dismounted the vehicle and searched house to house to recover the bodies of his fallen team members. By his extraordinary heroism, presence of mind amidst chaos and death, and unselfish devotion to his comrades in the face of great danger, Corporal Meyer reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.

On November 11th, 2011, 94 year old Nicolas Oresko, our nation’s oldest living recipient of the Medal of Honor and Dakota Myer, our nation’s most recent living recipient of the Medal of Honor met at the annual Veteran’s Day Parade in New York City.

Take a good look.

These are the sorts of people Conservatives call heroes. They span generations and hundreds of years. They come in all colors but they fought, and fight, for only 3 colors.

Red…White and Blue.

These are OUR heroes. They fight for freedom and liberty. They fight for us and for others around the world. They do not seek personal gain from their efforts nor do they seek fame. They were doing their jobs.

They don’t regard themselves as heroes. It’s our job to honor them as such and to never forget what they have done. We call them what they will not call themselves.

Liberals have heroes too.

Take a good look.

They fight for what others have. They DO seek personal gain and/or fame.

Liberal heroes feel entitled to their status and will shout about it until they are recognized and they wear their arrest record as their badge of honor.

Conservatives also have martyrs.

Take a good look.

They come in all colors. Those pictured above are but a small handful of the hundreds of thousands who went before them over the decades and centuries. These are the ones who fought for the exact same ideals as did our heroes but never made it back alive.

Liberals have martyrs too.

Take a good look.

A liberal martyr is the flavor of the day or the week. They will be left behind by liberal heroes just as soon as a new and more politically expedient martyr comes along.

The heroes of Conservatives give of themselves to their country to provide us freedom.

The heroes of liberals feel entitled that their country provide for them what others have earned.

The martyrs of conservatives gave all they had.

The martyrs of liberals are exploited for all they’re worth.

Who we honor and hold in high regard and how we do it is a direct reflection of the regard with which we hold our nation.

Some time today, stand in front of a mirror.

Take a good look.

Inside the Mind of Pelosi…Rattling and Squeeking

“What our founders put forth in our founding documents, which is life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And that is exactly what the Affordable Care Act helps to guarantee.”

Those were the words, last night, of Nancy Pelosi.

Somewhere, on the Montpelier Estate, James Madison, the Father of our Constitution just rolled over in his grave…and extended a middle finger in the general direction of Nancy Pelosi.

Along with being a brilliant political theorist and statesman, Madison was a keen judge of character.

Just as Madison was a great American, another such man of renown, Noah Webster, provided a definition with which, one must suspect, Nancy Pelosi has no known relationship.

LIBERTY, n. 1: [Noun] Freedom from restraint, in a general sense, and applicable to the body, or to the will or mind. The body is at liberty, when not confined; the will or mind is at liberty, when not checked or controlled. A man enjoys liberty, when no physical force operates to restrain his actions or volitions..   2: [Noun] Natural liberty, consists in the power of acting as one thinks fit, without any restraint or control, except from the laws of nature. It is a state of exemption from the control of others, and from positive laws and the institutions of social life. This liberty is abridged by the establishment of government..   3: [Noun] Civil liberty, is the liberty of men in a state of society, or natural liberty, so far only abridged and restrained, as is necessary and expedient for the safety and interest of the society, state or nation. A restraint of natural liberty, not necessary or expedient for the public, is tyranny or oppression. civil liberty is an exemption from the arbitrary will of others, which exemption is secured by established laws, which restrain every man from injuring or controlling another. Hence the restraints of law are essential to civil liberty. The liberty of one depends not so much on the removal of all restraint from him, as on the due restraint upon the liberty of others. In this sentence, the latter word liberty denotes natural liberty..

When Madison wrote of Life…LIBERTY…and the Pursuit of Happiness…One can quickly see that Mr. Webster had a much greater idea of what was meant by…”Liberty.”

It’s amazing really, how, day in and day out, liberals just seem to ignore common sense.

It can’t be by accident either. It’s a concerted effort. They look at any given situation, decide what the proper way to handle it would be…

Then do the exact opposite.

Oh well, here we go again. It’s Friday and…

I’m fuming.

On Wednesday, in Louisiana, teachers unions apparently believing the rest of us have forgotten that they don’t care a WHIP about the students…CLOSED DOWN 4 PARISH’S SCHOOLS SO THEY COULD PROTEST EDUCATION REFORMS!!!

According to Governor Jindal’s office, “The reality is that action is needed now. Forty-four percent of Louisiana’s public schools received a grade of D or F last year. Louisiana’s 4th and 8th graders ranked among the bottom in English and Math when compared to other states. In 2010 there were 230,000 students in Louisiana below grade level – one third of all students in public school.”

Naturally, the liberal run unions are MUCH more concerned about the TEACHERS than they are the students.

The changes proposed relate to teacher evaluations, tenure and retirement plans, as well as charter school creation and regulation. They would make it easier to fire BAD teachers, affect the way TENURE is handed out and create a charter system for those who want their kids to LEARN something.

Without a doubt…teachers unions in Louisiana are dead set against this idea of GOOD teachers being GOOD for students and RAISING the grade levels OF those students.

Liberals will be liberals…

Fuming.

Friday Fume

Well here we are at the end of another week of liberal stupidity.

While we can vote ’em out in November, we will never be able to fix stupid, so we might as well get used to ’em. I’ve found, if you take it all too seriously, without providing yourself a way to vent, liberals will drive you insane.

Join me, won’t you, in our weekly review with an attitude and LET IT OUT!!!

It’s Friday, and guess what?

Yep.

I’m fuming.

Liberals…Good grief…

In Colorado, a week ago, THEIR Governor, one John Hickenlooper, introduced his Lieutenant Governor, one Joe Carcia as a…

SEX STAR…

To an audience of…

SCHOOL CHILDREN!!!!!!!

Yeah, that’s just plain liberal stupid, isn’t it? One has NO idea WHAT Hickenlooper was THINKING but after THIS week’s introduction…

WE HAVE A PRETTY GOOD IDEA WHAT OL’ HICKENLOOPER IS THINKING…ABOUT!!!

Just a few days ago…Hickenlooper was introducing Denver Mayor…one…Mike…HANCOCK…I can’t make this stuff up, folks…

Apparently, Hancock’s wife…Mary Louise, is something of a singer and…trying to impress…the assembled audience…Hickenlooper made some reference to Obama singing to Michelle…in the SHOWER and introduced HANCOCK with THIS obtuse line…

Sandra Fluke…No Small Coincidence One Major Distraction

These are the words of Margaret Sanger. Sanger, as we all know, founded Planned Parenthood and we also all know just how the liberals LOVE Planned Parenthood. Along with horrible a deep feeling of hatred toward races other than white, Sanger also held some interesting ideas concerning…birth control and why it is necessary.

On adultery:
A woman’s physical satisfaction was more important than any marriage vow, Sanger believed. Birth Control in America, p. 11

On the purpose of birth control:
The purpose in promoting birth control was “to create a race of thoroughbreds,” she wrote in the Birth Control Review, Nov. 1921 (p. 2)

On religious convictions regarding sex outside of marriage:
“This book aims to answer the needs expressed in thousands on thousands of letters to me in the solution of marriage problems… Knowledge of sex truths frankly and plainly presented cannot possibly injure healthy, normal, young minds. Concealment, suppression, futile attempts to veil the unveilable – these work injury, as they seldom succeed and only render those who indulge in them ridiculous. For myself, I have full confidence in the cleanliness, the open-mindedness, the promise of the younger generation.” Margaret Sanger, Happiness in Marriage (Bretano’s, New York, 1927)

Liberals are Entitled to Have Their Lack of Morality Paid For

Let the Republicans put forth a bill to make it illegal for taxpayer money to be used to pay for abortions or birth control and boy oh boy howdy…liberals come unglued, don’t they?

They stomp about, spitting mad, call their own Congressional hearings, dig into their pool of shills to produce people to speak their mantra and start making demands.

They are entitled.

They have a right.

It’s suddenly all about health.

Right along with their demands, they issue strong statements against the Republicans too.

Stay out of our bodies.

You have no right.

Eventually, liberals start marching up and down sidewalks and block traffic carrying signs with slogans like, “GOVERNMENT STAY OUT OF MY WOMB” and “MY BODY MY CHOICE.”

Liberals, and in this case, liberal women…LISTEN UP AND LISTEN CLOSE!!!

Desperate Obama Goes to War on Religion

Mention a war on Christmas or a war on religion to a liberal and they will dismiss you. They’ll laugh and call you names. Liberals will tell you that you’re crazy and other things too.

They will. You know it, I know it and THEY know it.

Here’s something else we all know too.

There’s a war against religion being waged in this country and leading that war, are liberals and this administration.

Every Christmas, we go through it. No manger scenes in parks, no Christmas carols in schools or post offices. Christmas trees and Christmas programs become “Winter” trees and programs.

The war on Christmas is just a skirmish and one which was meant to start the process.

Now, liberals are starting to feel the pressure. They’re getting desperate. Their grip on power is starting to erode.

We know that and they know it too.

The midterm election of 2010 was a warning shot over their bow. It scared them. They thought THEY had it in the bag and THEY got a shellacking. They weren’t ready for it. They never saw it coming.

Now, as we head into the 2012 election, they, the liberal/socialists and their leader, Obama, are feeling the pressure and they’re ramping up the war. Way up.

Remember when Obamacare had to be passed to find out what was in it?

Turns out, one of the things in it was a mandate that religious organizations purchase Obamacare with coverage for abortions, contraception, morning-after pills and sterilizations.

Obama’s SOTU…Socialism of the Union

I believe that, last night, we heard the LAST State of the Union address from Obama.

(Waiting for the thunderous applause to die down)

Thank you…Thank you very much…Thank you…Please…Please, be seated…Thank you very much.

It was more of the same old thing. Lots more.

Hike taxes on the rich.

Fair share.

More government.

Honestly, one needs a socialist decoder ring to fully understand an Obama speech.

“The state of our union is getting stronger, and we’ve come too far to turn back now.”

Decoded: Substitute “socialism” for “Union” and you get the real message.

SOTU…A Look Back and a Look Forward

On Tuesday night, less than 48 hours before Obama has been subpoenaed to appear in a Georgia courtroom in a case regarding his eligibility to serve, he will deliver the 2012 State of the Union address.

We can hardly wait.

This year’s SOTU is expected to focus on “A Return to American Values.”

Obama? American Values?

Isn’t that an oxymoron of sorts?

“American Values, of course, being the “Oxy”…

Before we look too deep into the shallow end of the pool regarding the 2012 SOTU speech, shall we look back at the 2011 version?

Remember when…

MLK…The Messenger vs the Message

Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. On this day, we celebrate, what…exactly?

Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday?

He was born in January 15th and today is the 16 th. I’ve always been one who celebrates birthdays ON the actual day of birth.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is always celebrated on Monday so that government workers can have a day off. After all, they haven’t had a day off in nearly 3 weeks and they must be exhausted.

Is this a celebration of African-Americans who used to be Black after they were Negros in the days of Martin Luther King Jr? That would seem a little…racist…wouldn’t it?

It’s not the sort of holiday where people have family picnics or travel. It doesn’t have a traditional meal like Thanksgiving does. It’s not really full of festive fun for children or marked by church services either.

It’s supposed to be a celebration of the man and the ideals for which he stood.

Today, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, you cannot watch the news without hearing it’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day going into and coming out of each and every break. For God’s sake, they are even giving Martin Luther King Jr. weather updates.

Yes, we all know it’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day and we don’t need to be piously reminded of it by those who don’t really understand WHY it’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day any more than do I.

Now, am I saying we SHOULDN’T have this holiday?
