“It doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway.”

That was the response from Presidential Special Assistant, Kelly Sadler, during a discussion regarding opposition to Gina Haspel’s nomination for CIA director which included John McCain’s statement that while he believes Haspel is a “patriot,” he also believes “her refusal to acknowledge torture’s immorality is disqualifying.”

McCain himself was tortured as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, which puts his views into context, but what it doesn’t take into account is that the North Vietnamese engaged in torture well above and beyond the sorts of enhanced interrogation techniques employed by the CIA in recent years.

The outrage over Kelly Sadler’s comment has been widely played up by the mainstream media over the past week, and some have openly called for her to be fired.

Why?

Because she told the truth?

Many see her remark as “uncomfortable,” while other have called it “outrageous, completely insensitive, and/or beneath contempt.”

Sadly, most of the left side of the aisle, and some on the right were offended by Sadler’s statement which is not at all surprising in a climate where feelings have become more important than the truth.

One of my many complaints about liberals, is that they tend to wait until a Conservative of note is pronounced dead, but not until the body cools to air their intolerance and make their comments, lacking the courage to say what’s on their collective minds while the person in question is still drawing breath.

With that in mind, while McCain can still able to fog a mirror, and before all the phony platitudes regarding his courage, and years of dedicated service begin to ooze up from the floor of the swamp…allow me to provide my take on McCain.

The man was a war hero in that when given the opportunity to leave the Hanoi Hilton early, he refused…not wanting to leave his fellow soldiers behind…and regardless of whatever else may, or may not have happened in that hell-hole…that qualifies him as a war hero.

That, however, is where my admiration for McCain both begins, and ends.

Make no mistake, John McCain is a liberal masquerading as a Republican, and he hasn’t been very good at pretending for some time now. In fact, I believe his true colors have been showing since losing the Republican nomination back in 2000 to George W. Bush.

It was during that 2000 campaign for the nomination that McCain started sounding more like a democrat than the staunch Conservative he had always portrayed himself to be. In fact, his tax plan back in that campaign sounded more like something Al Gore would have authored than it sounded like a Conservative would have proposed. In fact, a Washington Times op-ed in 2000 stated in no uncertain terms that, “Mr. McCain’s tax plan is far more Clintonesque than Reaganesque, no matter how much he seeks to dress it up in conservative rhetoric.”

I don’t think McCain took that primary loss very well, but he wanted another shot at the White House and secured the nomination in 2008…eventually losing to Obama…which I believe became the catalyst for his bitterness toward the Republican Party.

Recently, in his book, McCain has said that he regrets his decision to name Sarah Palin as his 2008 running mate. McCain says that he wished he had instead selected former Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.) who was a former democrat.

I have some breaking news for John McCain…Sarah Palin was the only redeeming aspect of his 2008 campaign, and she was not the reason he lost that bid for the presidency…he was his own worst enemy. Palin brought more to his campaign for Conservative voters than he could have ever dreamed of bringing himself, and I suspect now that it wasn’t Conservatives McCain wanted voting for him…it was democrats.

During his 2008 campaign, McCain lacked the luster to drive republicans to the polls, and I believe after his loss to Obama, McCain then saw his senate seat as a way to try and steer the republican party to the left…something he’s tried to do ever since.

McCain’s slide towards the abyss of liberalism continued with the second term of Barack Hussein Obama, but it was the 2010 midterm election, in which liberals were shellacked by a new wave of Conservatives that really set McCain off. He was no fan of the new congressional Conservatives, and leveled insults and name calling at them on a regular basis, making himself the darling of the liberal mainstream media.

The problem for John McCain was, after losing to Obama in 2008, he had no real ability to steer the Republican Party. He had to have realized at that point that all he could do was curry favor with democrats, and try to gum up the works for Republicans and Conservatives…and I believe that has been his primary motivation for the past decade.

John McCain now seems desperate to claim a worthy legacy, so desperate in fact, that rather than allowing history to define what that legacy will be, he’s written it himself in a new book that will hit the shelves next week.

That brings us back to the uproar over the statement from Presidential Special Assistant, Kelly Sadler, in response to McCain’s gumming up the works regarding the nomination of Gina Haspel for CIA Director, “It doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway.”

Where was the liberal outrage when Hillary told a congressional committee, in response to a line of questioning regarding the terrorist attacks in Benghazi in which four Americans were murdered…”What difference, at this point does it make?!?”

The only difference between the two statements was that in Hillary’s case, the Americans were already dead…due in large part to her very own actions, and inactions. But where was the outrage from liberals over that? Where were the same liberals who today, want a staffer fired for her statement calling for Hillary to be, at the very least, indicted?

And, let’s not forget that McCain has finally admitted that he handed the fake Trump dossier over to James Comey, and said that if he had it to do over…he’d do it again…even knowing now that it was a fraud.

McCain is dying of terminal brain cancer, and apparently, Sadler is of the opinion that McCain is being an obstructionist for nothing more than being an obstructionist. While her statement may well be cutting, it’s truthful…she was simply speaking her mind…and those who have a problem with that have been quick to ignore McCain’s own words in his forthcoming book where he states, “This is my last term. If I hadn’t admitted that to myself before this summer, a stage 4 cancer diagnosis acts as ungentle persuasion.”

McCain goes on to say, “I’m freer than colleagues who will face the voters again. I can speak my mind without fearing the consequences much. And I can vote my conscience without worry.”

The last part of that statement from his book tells me two very important things…

First, that McCain finally regards himself free of the masquerade he’ been perpetrating on the Republican Party for years, to the point that he’s finally come out of the liberal closet…and second…that he can now vote openly with the liberals that he has for at least the past decade, identified with.

What I find most interesting however, is that while McCain crows about being able to speak his mind…the liberal mainstream media along with many on the right side of the aisle continue to flag Sadler for speaking her mind.

Finally, to add context to my opinion of McCain, and to illustrate his liberal bent…the Senator who had for years pretended to stand against Obamacare, even though he called Senator Cruz a “whacko-bird” for standing against it on the floor of the Senate, finally showed his true deep blue color.

On September 21st, 2017, John McCain, the dead man walking, made his way to the front of the Senate chamber and voted against repealing Obamacare…and his was the deciding vote…quite possibly the final vote of any consequence McCain would ever cast.

He had, as he says in his upcoming book, voted his conscience…showing us all that not only had he been playing his Arizona constituents for the better part of a decade after running his last campaign on getting rid of the socialist healthcare mechanism…a plan bought and paid for via Obama’s bribes and passed in the dead of night without one single iota of Republican input…but that he had been playing the entire republican party and its voters all along.

After that ever so liberal vote, McCain headed off for treatment for his terminal cancer…not the sort of treatment an Obamacare covered patient could ever hope to obtain, but one only provided by the golden healthcare plans embraced by those elected to federal office…not a treatment that could save him, but one that would only prolong his life long enough to pen his own legacy…his own epitaph before history had the opportunity to shine the light of truth on it.

John McCain, the pretend Conservative will hopefully be replaced by a real Conservative after this November’s election, if he even makes it that far…which is questionable at best, and woe be it to those who speak their minds about McCain while he, in his last days, speaks his mind about everyone else.

To add a last air of truth to my opinion of McCain, he has instructed that Obama is to speak at his funeral, and that President Trump not even be invited. It’s a final slap to the face of the party he’s pretended to represent, but not at all unexpected by those of us who have been watching the transparent charade for years.

John McCain will die an angry, bitter liberal after years, if not decades of masquerading as a Republican. Angry and bitter over what he believes to be a lost entitlement…the presidency…and in that way, he shares quite a bit in common with Hillary Clinton.

Will I revel in McCain’s death? No…nor will I be saddened by it. And what in my opinion will be John McCain’s real legacy?

“It doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway.”

  1. As always, you hit the nail on the head (but he’s dying anyway). Thank you both for another good article about the ditzy bunch of liberals in D.C. I’ll be sharing this all over the place!

  2. Well written, right on. Arizona constituency has been duped. What difference did he make? None.

  3. I totally agree with your enlightened comment. The truth is a bitter pill to swallow sometimes, but needs to be said. He needs to know how he’s legacy will be before he dies because he should have known better than to deceive his party and state and THAT is how he destroyed any admiration he could have had. His legacy, TRAITOR!

    • Well, this wasn’t intended as a bio on McCain, and to be hones, pilot error has nothing to do with his political bent.
