Imagine, if you will, a cliff at the brink of a bottomless abyss and the only thing there, as a barrier, is an electric fence.
Form that image in your mind and I promise I’ll get back to it before I’m finished here.
In scantly 3 weeks, on November 8th, America will have a choice to make. The stakes couldn’t possibly be higher, the ramifications couldn’t possibly be more dire nor could the consequences of that decision be more important, not only here at home, but around the world.
Like it or not, we are the balance in a world that’s on fire and near the tipping point. We are the world’s police. What we do, where we stand, and how we react have consequences and ripple effects that reach far beyond our shores and set the tone for both our allies and for our enemies.
I, like so many others, am sick and tired of being faced with voting for the lesser of the two evils. But I, like far too few, realize that no matter what, we will always be faced with voting for the lesser of the two evils.
Yes, I realize that there are many who, because of that aspect of the election, have decided to stand on their own island of pride, and write in a candidate’s name or vote for a 3rd party candidate because, according to them, it’s the moral thing to do, or it serves well their conscience.
I have a question, actually several questions, for those folks.
First…what conscience or what morals are you serving by voting 3rd party or write-in this November?
You, as voter “A” intend to write in candidate “A”. The next conscience or moral voter, voter “B” intends to vote for 3rd party candidate “B” while the one after that will write in candidate “C” because all three of you conscience voters believe your individual consciences will be best soothed by a different candidate.
Where does that get you, exactly and more to the point, since in this country, we are not entitled to each individual getting their own individual president, where does this get our country?
The reality, sad or otherwise, is while 3rd or 4th parties are permissible, we live in a country where the two party system is dominant and where there are but two official nominees for the highest office in the land.
Therefore, common sense, and mathematics dictate that the winner will be either the democrat nominee or the Republican nominee because…while each 3rd party or write-in candidate will garner a percentage here and a couple of percentages of the vote, none, because of the incessant splitting of the vote, will register enough votes to be anything more than a faint shadow on the outcome of the election.
However…if you add up each individual 3rd party or write-in candidate’s votes, the sum total might reach as high as 10 percent thus making a difference in the final tally, but if anyone purports that their individual “other” candidate has a chance of actually winning on November 8th…they are lying to you, lying to themselves or both.
Here’s my next question to those taking what they consider to be the moral high ground…
Do you really believe that by not voting for Donald Trump, you are not helping Hillary get elected?
There are those who will claim exactly that, and they will pretend to jump through flaming hoops to prove it with one of their main arguments being that they also aren’t voting for Hillary, thus taking a vote away from her, which is as false an argument as there could possibly be.
Here’s how it works in reality, rather than in some alternate, fantasy world.
We never hear of liberals, or democrats, wallowing about in advocating for a 3rd party or write-in candidate. They get in lock-step, and vote for their party’s nominee. On the other hand, election after election, we on the other side of the aisle, continue to claim that the moral high ground is to split our votes here, there and everywhere because we can’t come to an agreement that whether or not we like our nominee, that nominee is the only viable choice we have of defeating the liberal nominee.
If we do again, what we on the right side of the aisle have done far too many times, and split our votes while those on the socialist left are in lock-step with theirs…we will suffer the same outcome as we have suffered far too many times. We will, by splitting our votes while the liberals don’t split theirs, lose.
And while we’re on the topic of moral high ground…allow me to ask those who believe that their individual 3rd party or write-in candidate can win this question…
Exactly what moral high ground are you occupying when your morals dictate that your actions will allow the ilk of another Obamaesque or yet another Clinton, occupy the Oval Office?
Hillary Clinton will be nothing more, and certainly nothing less, that a 3rd term for Obama’s socialist policies and everybody knows it. The liberals clearly know it because they love socialism, they want a cradle to grave government nanny state, they collectively hate our military, our allies and our position as a world leader while they just as collectively love the enemies of our allies and for that matter, our own enemies. Hillary Clinton embodies such thinking, just as has Obama for the past 8 years and longer…therefore…Hillary equals Obama.
Moral high ground? Allowing Hillary to win, to sooth your conscience is taking the moral high ground? There is high ground everywhere but the high ground at the bottom of the Marianas Trench, is still at the bottom of the Marianas Trench.
Those whose high ground directly allows the treasonous ilk of Hillary Clinton to become the next president of the United States have indeed taken the absolute lowest high ground on earth.
Okay, before I get back to that fence and the abyss…let me ask the conscience voters and the moral high grounders a few more questions…some very important questions…
Considering the fact, and it is a fact, that our next president will be either Hillary or Trump…with whom, exactly, do your morals and your high ground most closely align on the most important issues?
Are your morals and your consciences more closely aligned with Hillary, or Trump, on whether or not a president, or any government official, should be above the law? With whom do your morals and consciences more closely align on Israel? With whom do your morals and consciences more closely align on Islam and Islamist barbarians? With whom do your morals and consciences more closely align on the whole of foreign policy?
With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align on the most important domestic policies?
With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align with job creation? With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align on our overall economy? With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align on Obamacare? With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align on the IRS, the EPA and the Education Department?
With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align on taxes, on trade, on energy and on welfare?
Here’s one that is of the utmost importance…
With whom, Trump or Hillary, do your morals and consciences more closely align when it comes to the balance of the Supreme Court? Because the next president will be making appointments not only to that court but to all federal courts whose ramifications will be in full effect not just for the next 4 years, but for the next 40 years or more.
And remember, since your individual 3rd party or write-in candidates of choice can’t possibly win, mathematically or any other way, and because we don’t all get to have our own individual president…your only choices for the questions I just posed, are Trump or Hillary.
Now then, back to where I began this article and the fence next to the abyss.
If you haven’t figured it out yet…it’s a metaphor for this staggeringly important, and stunningly dire election.
As a nation, regardless of our consciences, or our morals, standing at the very brink of that bottomless abyss from which there is no recovery, and the only thing keeping us from that fateful final step, is an electric fence. We know what happens if we jump that fence…if we allow Hillary Clinton to become the next president of the United States and we equally know what happens if we urinate on the fence.
The latter option means it’s gonna hurt. There’s going to be a jolt and we’re going to howl and jerk around and we’re probably not going to feel too good the morning after. But we can deal with it. We can get over it as a nation and we can learn not to do it again.
Conversely…if we go over the edge of the abyss…it means free-fall…into full-on socialism. It means the completion of Obama’s desire to fundamentally transform America. It means non-stop government intrusion into our private lives, the shredding of the Bill of Rights with the 2nd Amendment being the first to go…it means being mandated to accept unvetted Islamic “refugees” and it means that our nation’s borders will be erased. It means that the welfare rolls will grow unchecked, that the jobs creators will be regulated out of existence and that success, the pinnacle of the American Dream will be punished.
On the foreign policy side of things…our allies will never trust us again, and our enemies will never have another reason to fear us. The world will destabilize, our military will be left unable to provide our nation with safety and we will fall into the failed world of socialism on our way to a One World Government.
So…given your only two viable options, because a vote for any other than Trump is helping Hillary win…what are you 3rd party, conscience, moral high ground voters going to do…jump over the fence one way or another and take all of us with you, or will you grit your teeth, brace yourselves and urinate on the electric fence?
Now then, with all those questions asked…would someone please point me toward the fence…I have to pee.
REMINDER!!!
Tonight, Tuesday October 18th, from 7 to 9pm EST on American Political Radio, RIGHT SIDE PATRIOTS Craig Andresen and Diane Sori give two different takes on the misplaced priorities of the conscience voters, and preview the final presidential debate.
Hope you will tune in at: bit.ly/2cpXuRd
I am going to do as I must and trust God on whomever is elected. I am not voting on the presidential line just the down ticket, my conscience was violated in the previous two elections and on the third strike you’re out.
Fear and anger are not legitimate decision making factors they skew and distort perspective, hence we are where we are.
Frankly Kevin…our country is much more important than anyone’s delicate feelings.
