As Donald Trump continues to lead in the polls and as we are now but two weeks from the Iowa caucus…the first votes to be cast in our nation in 2016…I felt it was high-time we take a look at WHY Trump is so popular in some conservative circles.

What IS it that the Trumpers are so giddy about?

Trumpers, in their more than self-righteous way, will line up to tell you if you just ask and, I have asked.

Here is what I have been told…

Donald Trump will not be beholding to big corporations.

Are they SURE of this? I mean, Trump has a very long history of making deals with big corporations to finance his projects from hotels and casinos to golf courses and shopping centers and let’s face a certain fact that is being completely ignored by the Trumpers…that being that Donald Trump IS a big corporation.

Trump can’t be bought.

Trumpers will tell you at the drop of a hat that Trump can’t be bought like other politicians. That he, because of his wealth, is above all that but, again there is something which Trumpers routinely, religiously ignore. Trump is the guy that BUYS politicians and their political favors.

In fact, during the very first Republican debate, Donald Trump not only admitted to buying politicians and political favors…

He BRAGGED about it.

Well, isn’t THAT interesting?

Trumpers will let you know that they are sick and tired of politicians and that Trump is no politician and it’s time we elected a non-politician to the highest office in the land.

Oh, really?

Along with buying politicians and political favors, which in and of itself requires one to run amongst political circles, Donald Trump has, indeed, more than dabbled in politics AS a politician before. In fact, in 2000, Donald J. Trump was a candidate, for president, on the Reform Party ticket. Remember the Reform Party? That was split the vote Ross Perot’s party which got Bill Clinton elected in 1992, and even after dropping out of the 2000 race, Trump actually won the California primary garnering 44% of the vote.

Given that, the TALKING point of Trump not being a politician becomes a LYING point.

I rather doubt that most of the core Trumpers have read this far through this article because, how dare I attack their liberal candidate. Core Trumpers, like their liberal/socialist cohorts, have no use for the truth and this article is leading straight down the path of truth, but I hope that the Trump-drunk are regarding this article like a pot of extra strong coffee and a cold shower…the sort of thing that will sober them up and wake them up.

Trumpers are very fond of spouting off that Trump, unlike anyone else in the field of 2016 Republican candidates, is a true Conservative.

Oh, is he now?

Really?

Well, let’s see exactly how Donald Trump stacks up to the embodiment of the anathema to Conservatism…shall we?

Barack Hussein Obama is a strong proponent of a single payer healthcare system.

How about Trump?

Yep…squarely in line with the liberal/socialist talking points on healthcare.

Obama just loves to raise taxes but what about Trump’s proposed tax plan? How does that fit in with solid Conservatism?

Well, after reviewing Trump’s proposed tax cuts last September, the Tax Policy Center released the COST of Trump’s tax cuts which would have to include a 20% spending cut across the board in order to prevent raising our national debt by nearly $25 TRILLION dollars over the next 20 years. Those spending cuts would “amount to more than 100% of defense spending, or 82% of domestic program spending, or 41% of Medicare and Social Security spending.”

And none of that takes into account the INTEREST on our added national debt. Now correct me if I’m wrong here but I thought our national debt was a primary concern with us Conservatives as well as I have always believed that cutting our military spending was a Conservative no-no.

Obama is pro choice.

Trump?

It seems that his New York values are showing through.

Not only that but, on more than one occasion, Donald J. Trump said that  Maryanne Barry, a federal appeals court judge who struck down New Jersey’s partial-birth abortion ban, would be a “phenomenal” Supreme Court justice.

What…you’ve never heard of Judge Maryanne Barry…Maryanne TRUMP Barry…Donald’s SISTER? The one who apparently shares his New York values?

Obama says that he believes Hillary Clinton did a great job as our Secretary of State.

Trump?

Oh, my goodness…he even praises her handling of Benghazi.

We all know that Obama is hell-bent on gun control and that he has a pen and a phone to prove it but where does Donald Trump, the “Trumper’s conservative” stand on the subject?

Here’s what Trump said about gun control back in 2000…”I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I also support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today’s Internet technology we should be able to tell within seventy-two hours if a potential gun owner has a record.” So he does favor banning certain weapons based on their cosmetic presentation which to me seems quite anti-conservative.

Barack Obama has donated money to both Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

Donald J. Trump has bragged about donating money to both Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and the fact remains, that before 2009, when Trump was either a registered independent or a registered democrat,(he kept switching back and forth) he gave the bulk of his political donations…i.e. the buying of politicians and political favors…TO liberals.

In fact…don’t take MY word for it in regards to Trump’s liberal leanings and his liberal stance on so many key issues…take HIS word for it.

Gee…I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Oh, I know that Trumpers will quickly dismiss these facts and try to tell us all how Trump doesn’t really believe these things any more…that he’s “evolved” on these issues but guess who else claims an evolution in thinking or stands on given issues…

Oh boy.

And who else?

Double oh, boy.

I can understand any elected official changing his or her stance on specific issues as the nature of the issues themselves change, but what we see in Trump is a quantum shift in political ideology and philosophy…not because the issues have radically changed, but because Trump’s personal goals have changed and that is political expediency based on his own narcissistic desire to rule the country.

RULE…the country?

Yes. Because the only way to do everything Trumps claims HE will DO…is by Executive Order, with a pen and a phone and haven’t we, as Conservatives, had enough of that over the past seven years?

Trump says HE will build a wall…HE will make Mexico pay for that wall…that HE will not allow any Muslim immigration of visas, that HE will deport 22 million illegal aliens…that HE will make better deals with our trading partners and HE will make better deals for this, that and the other thing. HE will do this and HE will do that. Not one word from Trump regarding working with congress or working within the framework of the Constitution as per the separation of powers.

It’s ME, I and ME again with Donald Trump. According to everything Trump intends to do…it’s a one man show.

You know…like a dictatorship.

Is THAT what real Conservatives REALLY want…another dictatorship with mandated pen and phone leadership?

Do we, as Conservatives, really want another unchecked narcissist at the helm? Haven’t we also had more than enough of THAT?

Now compare that to the current narcissist in chief.

Well, there ya go.

While I believe it’s fair to say that Obama and Trump could well argue over which of them would leave the lightest footprints while walking over any given body of water…Trump might well have out narcissismed Obama with his campaign logo…Obama’s being a big “O” while Trump’s campaign logo is…his own head.

Okay, now for all those core Trumpers who have made it this far and are spitting nails, getting ready to call me every name in the book for writing and running a “hit piece” on their one and only candidate…bear in mind that I simply wrote the truth…truth backed up by none other THAN their one and only candidate…in HIS own words and with HIS own video appearances.

This is not the truth…as I see it…this is the truth as Donald J. Trump has TOLD it HIMSELF and I have not exposed Trump as being everything BUT a Conservative…

I simply allowed Trump to handle that on his own.

Now allow me to go back to the question that opened this article and pose it in just a slightly different way…unless they are liberals, trying to pass themselves off as Conservatives, what IS it that the Trumpers are so giddy about?
