In what may well be THE most hideous, shameful action taken by the 113th congress…
A budget bill PASSED in the senate yesterday that KEEPS INTACT, an IRS credit of $4.2 BILLION DOLLARS for ILLEGAL ALIENS while it CUTS pension benefits to RETIRED, WOUNDED MEMBERS OF OUR MILITARY!!!
Livid doesn’t begin to cut it.
For the next 20 years, the retirement cost of living benefits of those who have voluntarily worn the uniform of our nation and were forced into retirement due to the grievous injuries they received while defending OUR freedoms…OUR liberties and those of others in places half a world away are being CUT and, in some cases, those cuts could amount to a total of up to $124 THOUSAND dollars over the 20 years in question.
How in the world those who voted FOR this budget can look themselves in the mirror…Sleep at night or, better yet…FACE A WOUNDED WARRIOR…Is beyond comprehension.
These courageous heroes, men and women, were promised these benefits.
They knew the dangers going in. They faced their duty with the sort of steadfast courage most of us will never know or understand and far, far too many came home with the scars, seen and unseen to now discover that the very government that vowed their duty would be rewarded…LIED to them.
This is OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!
To think that those elected to serve in the cushy halls of congress, with THEIR lifetime pensions SOLIDLY in place, have decided to allow $4.2 BILLION dollars of ANNUAL tax credits to remain in place for ILLEGAL ALIENS while SLAPPING THE FACES AND GIVING THE ROYAL FINGER TO THOSE WHO SERVED THIS NATION IN THE WORST, MOST DANGEROUS PLACES ON THE PLANET…
Is beneath contempt.
According to senator Jeff Sessions, who TRIED to stop this from happening, “By blocking my amendment, they voted to cut pensions for wounded warriors. Senators in this chamber have many valid ideas for replacing these pension cuts, including my proposal to close the tax welfare loophole for illegal filers, and all deserved a fair and open hearing. But they were denied.”
DENIED!!!
And who, exactly, is in charge of the senate???

After yesterday’s vote, John McCain defended the cuts to veteran’s benefits stating, “We cannot have continued increases in costs and benefits forever because of our inability to fund our national security. In other words, the dramatic increase in personnel and benefit costs are such that we really aren’t going to have money left over for the mission, the equipment, and the capabilities.”
The RIGHT thing to have done was to have left CURRENT wounded veteran’s benefits THE HELL ALONE and made adjustments to FUTURE veterans benefits so as NOT to TRASH the commitments already MADE!!! Those entering the military TODAY would know THEIR benefits UP FRONT and those who have already SERVED would have THEIR BENEFITS COVERED as they were PROMISED!!!
In all, 9 Republicans…Saxby Chambliss (Ga.), Susan Collins (Maine), Orrin G. Hatch (Utah), John Hoeven (N.D.), Johnny Isakson (Ga.), Ronald Johnson (Wis.), John McCain (Ariz.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Rob Portman (Ohio)…Joined 55 Democrats to pass this measure of disrespect through the senate and THEY join 3 Republicans…Sens. Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), Roy Blunt (Mo.) and Jeff Flake (Ariz.)….Who voted to end the debate on the bill on Tuesday.
In these economic times, we all have to do some belt tightening but, haven’t those who suffered the wounds of war, come home from their service with missing limbs, brain injuries and unseen PTSD already made their sacrifices?

$7 billion to destroy perfectly useable military vehicles and equipment rather than sell it.

$3.5 million to cover up the solar panels on the roof of Boston Airport because the glare was blinding the pilots.
$685 million on and to promote the Obamacare website which doesn’t work, has no security and doesn’t yet contain a payment portal.
This short list barely scratches the surface but…In what may well be THE most IRONIC of insane expenditures…
NASA SPENT… $3 million…ON A STUDY TO DISCOVER…HOW CONGRESS WORKS!!!!
They will allow THOSE sorts of INSANE expenditures…ALLOCATE OUR TAXPAYER DOLLARS TO THOSE SORTS OF INSIPID IDEAS…
BUT THEY REFUSE TO HONOR THEIR COMMITMENTS TO THOSE WHO HAVE GIVEN THEIR ABILITY TO WALK, HOLD THEIR CHILDREN, RECOGNIZE THEIR LOVED ONES OR FUNCTION WITHOUT FEAR OR ANGER BECAUSE OF THEIR COURAGE IN THE FIELDS OF THE WARS WHERE THEY WERE SENT???

When I see a Member of our military in uniform in a restaurant, on a street corner, in a store or at the airport, I feel a duty to thank them for their service and do so because they and their families are providing this country with freedom.
When I see someone in a wheelchair, saluting our flag, or someone who has lost an arm or leg weeping at the playing of our National Amthem…When I see a young family caring for a loved one who came home so injured they may not even know their own name or see a man or woman hit the deck in fear because of a sudden, loud noise that barely got my own attention…
When I saw that photo of Josh Hargis, a Ranger with the 3rd Ranger Battalion, laying in a hospital bed in Afghanistan, after being so severely wounded that those in his room thought him to be unconscious, raising his right hand to salute after his Commanding Officer awarded him the Purple Heart and thanked him for his service to his country…
I have a very different reaction.
I see the COST of my freedom. I see the PAYMENT that soldier made on MY liberty and I know that my “thanks” will never be enough.
And what do those, in congress, who voted to cut their benefits see?
A few dollars to be saved…And then spent on something for which there is neither rhyme nor reason?
HOW DARE THEY!!!
Our wounded warriors will never have a vacation from their injuries nor will their families but, I’m sure, when those who voted to cut their benefits return from THE
IR Christmas vacations, THEY will find some way to “FIX” this.
THEY will HAVE to…”FIX” it…Because THEY lacked the MORALS to have done the right thing to begin with.
WE all need to “FIX” this.
Identify those who “represent” you in the halls of congress who voted to disrespect those who gave more to this nation than THEY could ever DREAM of giving and send THEM the link to this article but, do NOT stop there.
Find someone with the moral compass to do what is right the FIRST time…PREFERABLY…SOMEONE WHO HAS WORN THE NATION’S UNIFORM WITH PRIDE, RESPECT, DIGNITY AND HONOR and…Encourage THEM to run for office because, the world’s battlefields are not the only place our liberties need to be protected.
Let those in Washington KNOW, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that THEIR actions WILL NOT stand but WE WILL and WE will stand for those who no longer can because…THEY HAVE STOOD FOR US!!!

When a doctor and reservist Joe Heck votes no on the budget that should tell you something. They need to cut the retirement pay for the elected officials. Whorehouse Harry would get 80% of $194000 or about $13000 a month when he retires while an E5 with 20 years of service gets 35% of $37000 or about $1100 a month.
