“Yesterday, four of these extraordinary Americans were killed in an attack on our diplomatic post in Benghazi.”
“The United States condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous and shocking attack.”
“Since our founding, the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others.”
“But there is absolutely no justification to this type of senseless violence. None. The world must stand together to unequivocally reject these brutal acts.”
“And then last night, we learned the news of this attack in Benghazi.”
“Libyan security personnel fought back against the attackers alongside Americans.”
“No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for. Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America.”
“But we also know that the lives these Americans led stand in stark contrast to those of their attackers.”
The above quotes are directly from the transcript of Obama’s Rose Garden Speech on Wednesday September 12th regarding the attack in Benghazi the night before and the quotes are in the order in which they were spoken.
The quotes are a complete listing of anything he said directly pertaining to any attacks.
In his speech, Obama described the attack of September 11th 2012 in Benghazi as: “An attack,” an “outrageous and shocking attack,” “brutal acts,” “this attack” and “senseless violence.”
Obama referenced those who perpetrated the attack as: “the attackers.”
Early in the speech, Obama referenced the You Tube video by stating: “Since our founding, the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others.”
It is worth noting that Obama’s ONLY generic mention of terror in this speech came AFTER Obama mentioned the original 9-11: “Of course, yesterday was already a painful day for our nation as we marked the solemn memory of the 9/11 attacks. We mourned with the families who were lost on that day. “
That generic mention of terror appeared in this sentence: “No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.”
Obama is trying to convince voters that he called the Benghazi attack a “terrorist attack” or “An act of terror” in that speech.
He clearly did not.
Since I know full well that liberals will claim I am taking these quotes out of context, let me admit that, indeed I have.
To that point, allow me now to add the context.
Obama’s Rose Garden speech on September 12th can be broken down into 3 parts.
Part 1 was all about the events of the previous night in Benghazi.
Part 2 was historical reference.
And part 3 brought it back to the situation in Benghazi.
Absolutely at no time in parts 1 and 3 when Obama was speaking of the Benghazi attack did he ever use the words “terror,” “terrorist attack,” or “act of terror.”
In fact, his ONLY use of the word “terror” came in the historical reference, part 2, of the speech.
What Liberals nor Obama Can Answer.
IF, as Obama, liberals and the liberal media claim, that Obama directly called Benghazi an act of terror from the Rose garden, why then did he, in the days and weeks to follow, dodge the question?
On The View, when asked if the attack was a terror attack, Obama said that it was still under investigation.
On Letterman, when asked if it was a terror attack, Obama said it was still under investigation.
In an interview on Univision, when asked if it was a terror attack Obama said it was still under investigation.
IF, as liberals, Obama and the liberal media claim, that Obama clearly labeled the attack in Benghazi an act of terror in the Rose Garden speech, why then, in the days and weeks to come, did Secretary of State Clinton place the blame on the You Tube Movie?
Why did Jay Carney take such great pains to tell the press that the attack was a response to the You Tube Movie?
Why did Hillary stand in front of the caskets of our fallen from that attack and blame the You Tube Video?
Why, 5 days later, was Susan Rice sent to 5 Sunday shows to say the attack in Benghazi was a spontaneous response to the You Tube video?
And why did Obama himself, 2 weeks later, reference the You Tube Video 6 times from the U.N. podium without using the word “terror” even a single time?
Making the Claim Even HARDER to Believe.
Obama, liberals and the liberal media who NOW insist that there should be NO question about it because Obama so CLEARLY called the attack in Benghazi a terrorist attack in the Rose Garden simply can’t explain WHY, if it was SOOOOOO clear, did the women on The View have to ASK Obama is it was terrorism?
If it was SOOOOOO clear…Why did Letterman have to ASK Obama if it was terrorism?
If it was SOOOOOO clear…Why did they have to ASK him on Univision if it was terrorism???
In fact…go back and look at articles written on September 13th regarding the Rose garden speech. Can you find one that states: “Obama Says Benghazi a Terrorist Attack.”
Nope.
And trust me, if they even for a second thought that he DID label it as such, on the day AFTER the attack…It WOULD have been the headline.
Nonetheless…Obama stood firm on shaky ground.
“The day after the attack, governor, I stood in the Rose Garden and I told the American people in the world that we are going to find out exactly what happened. That this was an act of terror and I also said that we’re going to hunt down those who committed this crime.”
Crime?
I thought it was an act of terror?
Now we discover that the man who asked the original Libya question during the debate, Kerry Ladka, was sought out BY Obama AFTER the debate.
“After the debate, the president came over to me and spent about two minutes with me privately and gave me more information about why he delayed calling the attack a terrorist attack. He said he wanted to make sure that the intelligence he was acting on was real intelligence and not disinformation.”
WHAT??? I thought, just minutes before, Obama claimed he had labeled the “crime” an “Act of Terror” in the Rose Garden!!!
Finally…there was something Obama said in this debate exchange that should be a giant waving red flag signaling a lie in progress.
Obama KNOWS he didn’t call Benghazi a terror attack in the Rose Garden every bit as much as he KNOWS the National Security leaks earlier this year came directly from his Obama Campaign Administration.
He uses the exact same wording in an attempt to dispel both and we all know there’s nothing more sincere than recycled indignation.
Obama, like a fart in a phone booth…Just can’t pass the smell test.
What do you expect? He working with the Muslim Brotherhood and slowly filling governement Jobs with Muslims that support terrorism and anti Semitism.
