So…Last week, after Sandra Fluke was referred to as a slut by Rush Limbagh, Obama picked up the phone and called her.

Fluke, as you will remember, is the 30-year old who feels Georgetown Law coeds are entitled to have the American taxpayers pay for their contraception which she claims costs $3,000 over a 3-year time span. She claimed financial hardship.

Obama picked up the phone and, according to Fluke, “He encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the concerns of American women. And what was really personal for me was he said to tell my parents they should be proud. And that meant a lot because Rush Limbaugh had questioned whether or not my family would be proud of me. I appreciated that very much.”

According to Obama’s mouthpiece, Jay Carney, “He wanted to offer his support to her. He wanted to express his disappointment that she has been the subject of inappropriate personal attacks and thank her for exercising her rights as a citizen to speak out on an issue of public policy.”

Carney continued, “This is not a quote from him but I think he thinks they were reprehensible, they were disappointing. It is disappointing that those kinds of personal and crude attacks could be leveled against someone like this young law school student who was simply expressing her opinion on a matter of public policy and doing so with a great deal of poise.”

I’m getting all misty eyed here.

Let’s look at the Fluke and Carney, quotes shall we?

Hello? Mr. and Mrs. Terry? This is the President.

I would like to offer my most sincere condolences to you and your family on the loss of your son, Brian.

It is my sad duty to inform you that a weapon, which we were supposed to have been tracking, was used to kill Brian.

We are looking into exactly how this occurred and I want you to know, that those responsible for losing track of that weapon and those responsible for the program which placed that weapon into the hands of a Mexican drug cartel, will be held fully and criminally responsible.

Your son, Brian, was a good man performing one of the most important jobs I can think of…Protecting our national security.

Brian was and is a hero and while I know that won’t bring him back to you, I want you to know I will never forget him or rest until we can be sure a tragic event like this will never, ever happen again.

Mr. and Mrs. Terry…You can be very proud of Brian.

It is personally disappointing to me that attacks like the one which took Brian’s life can be leveled against our nation’s first line of border defense.

I want to assure you that you can count on the office of the President to fully support you and your family and provide whatever is necessary to help you in what must be the toughest time of your lives.

Once again, as the President, allow me to extend my very deepest sympathies.

One can only suspect that, had Agent Brian Terry lost his life while seeking American taxpayer supplied birth control, a call similar in nature to the one proposed above…
