It’s all over the news and social media. Lake County Florida’s Democratic Headquarters. It seems they’ve been flying a flag outside
their office for the last couple of months. That flag, with its red and white stripes, had a field of blue but, instead of stars, 50 of them, it bore the image of Obama’s face.
The flag can be purchased on the internet for $12.95 and, it’s made in China.
It’s a disgrace.
A group of military veterans, heroes, saw it this morning and immediately demanded it be removed.
It was not the flag THEY fought for.
It was not the flag their friends DIED for.
It was NOT the flag to which they have, all their lives, pledged allegiance.
The Lake County Democratic Party boss, Nancy Hurlbert, clearly didn’t see it the way our retired military heroes saw it and stated, “It leads me to believe that it’s not about the flag. Certain elements cannot accept Barack Obama as president.”
If by “certain elements” this weasel means those who are proud of their country, those who salute the flag, those who put their hands over their hearts during the National Anthem, those who believe America means liberty and freedom, those whose wives have always been proud of their country, those who would never think to hang a Mao ornament from their Christmas tree, those who are disgusted by an oval office occupant who continually apologizes for our nation, those who believe in the 2nd Amendment and all the rest, those who believe and uphold our nation’s Constitution or those who do not believe in socialism…
She might be onto something… But make no mistake…It IS about the flag.
Those to whom our flag has meaning are apt to politely ask that a weathered or torn flag be replaced. They have a keen eye for such things and a heartfelt reason for doing so.
It’s called…
Respect.
If this liberal wombat in Lake County Florida doesn’t believe it, she should familiarize herself with the following:
In Albany Georgia, you will find at 2401 Dawson Rd. Gieryic’s Automotive. A while back, the owner, Tom Gieryic, was working on a truck owned by Dave Aldrich.
Tom is proud of his country and holds our flag in high regard. In fact, Tom has flown the American flag on the corner outside his shop for 30 years.
Tom had noticed a small, very small hole in his flag and he asked Dave if it would be okay to mend that small hole or, should he just replace his flag.
Dave Aldrich, by the way, is Lt. Col. Dave Aldrich, USMC, Retired.
LTC Aldrich told Tom that he and others routinely replace damaged flags and, by golly, he just happened to have a brand NEW flag in his truck. LTC Aldrich retired the damaged flag and replaced it on the spot.
Later, it seems some had called in a complaint regarding a small sports event sign, like a yard sign, which was also on the Gieryic property and when the City Ordinance official came out, SHE told Tom Gieryic that HE WOULD HAVE TO ALSO REMOVE HIS FLAG AS IT WAS IN VIOLATION OF THE CITY SIGN ORDINANCE.
Tom told her, and rightly so, that it was a flag, not a sign at which time he was issued a ticket, a threat to be so ticketed $1,000 per day, unless he removed the flag.
After a little checking and with the assistance of a local Councilman, Tom discovered that he needed to, and has, moved the flag…1 foot toward his side of the city right of way.
To some people, our flag deserves no respect. To some, it stands for nothing. For some, it’s just a piece of cloth. These are indeed sad excuses for Americans.
The flag, the REAL American flag, is a symbol of freedom, liberty and the greatest nation on Earth. Many have fought for it and for what it represents. Many have died for its country.
That flag, the real flag, has 13 stripes representing the 13 original colonies and 50 stars representing each of our United States.
Replace those stars with an image of a president, ANY president, and that flag no longer represents this nation. At that point, it represents one individual. Perhaps Hurlbert, in Lake County Florida doesn’t realize it but we do NOT pledge allegiance to a person in this country.
Perhaps she does; and she, along with other liberal/socialists are doing exactly that.
It’s disgusting.
It’s even more disgusting when that image is of Obama, who has a history of disrespect for that flag and that for which it stands.
In Lake County Florida, outside the Democratic Party headquarters, you might again find a flag of disrespect flying as Hurlbert has stated, “I won’t say no and I won’t say yes. We want to find out what our legal rights are.”
Inside that building, you will find someone who simply doesn’t give a flying rat’s ass about the flag.
In Albany, Georgia, you will find Gieryic’s Automotive repair shop outside of which flies a real American flag. Inside that building, you’ll find someone to whom that flag means something greater than what meets the eye.
In both Lake County, Florida, and Albany, Georgia, you’ll find groups of retired military men and women to whom that flag, that REAL flag, means…
Everything.
In Washington D.C. you’ll find, at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, a man and his wife to whom that flag means very, very little.

Would any other president have the audacity to put his picture where the field of stars should be? This is Obama worship, nothing less. The Ten Commandments (now we understand why it was removed from all Federal Buildings) says “You shall have no other Gods before me.” This adoration is reminiscent of that given Adolph Hitler by the Germans. I have always been proud of my country except for the last four years.
This only shows the ignorance of these people. Before doing something dumb as this they don’t even research the protocol of disply of the American flag. How sad that these are the same people who want to rule America.

Where is that fellow who cut down the Mexican flag that was flying above the American flag? He apparently is the only one with a pair big enough to take care of this matter as well.
My sons did not join the military to fight for this country under this Marxist disgracing our flag. Obama has disgraced this office since day one and so has wife. November 2012 can’t come soon enough.
BTW, I am an American via African descent. I am not ashamed to express how I feel re. political issues. Sometimes, I wish I could HAVE the mike in MY hands to openly express MY viewpoint regarding what’s happening on BOTH sides of the aisle in Washington, D.C. as well as in my OWN state and other parts of the country. I truly LOVE facebook. I wonder if those who had the flag painted in such a way informed the president of their actions? I do not believe he would be pleased realizing how the public dislike him and his family occupying what has been called the “White House” for so MAAAANNNNY years? As I recall, a black slave remembered the construction plans BEFORE the building was destroyed. The “White House” was built based on the slave’s memory.
I am a Democrat who is conservative when I find it necessary to exercise MY right to be an INDEPENDENT THINKER; not one to be dictated to. In this instance, I am not pleased with having our president’s picture displayed on the flag and hung outside. I feel the same as I felt when I continuously saw the confederate flag openly displayed over buildings in some southern states where I GREW UP.
