When you’re the Emperor, everything either is, or is not, what you say it is or isn’t. You and you alone get to decide what laws will and won’t be defended. You get to ignore court subpoenas. YOU get to decide when Congress is or isn’t in session. The Constitution is something which YOU can ignore and religious organizations with THEIR doctrines and beliefs?
Well, YOU, as the Emperor, get to decide that such things are submissive to YOUR reign.
Why on Earth would the military be any different?
The Emperor was able to declare the end of hostilities in Iraq after all. NOT that hostilities were ACTUALLY over but, the Emperor, upon his coronation, DID promise the serfs that HE would bring those troops home.
Many believe the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq was purely a political move.
Nope.
It was OVER and WE WON the peace SO SAYETH THE EMPEROR SO LET IT BE KNOWN AS TRUE. Never mind the increase in violence, IED bombings and the pesky fact that Iranian agitators are stepping up THEIR attacks in Iraq.
The Emperor said we secured the peace and hostilities had ended.
Now, with “Talks” in the offing with the TALIBAN in Afghanistan, the Emperor looking to release 5 Taliban terror masterminds from Gitmo AS A SHOW OF GOOD FAITH, and the continued killing and wounding of our troops in that theater…
The Emperor has declared that Afghanistan is now a SAFE ZONE.
Our troops, the men and women who wear the uniform of our nation, are not to receive COMBAT pay in Afghanistan UNLESS they are shot at.
Let’s take a mythical Sgt. Jones and Capt. Smith as examples.
If Capt. Smith is on patrol and HE gets shot at…HE gets combat pay.
If at the same time, Sgt. Jones is on patrol let’s say a half mile away and does NOT get shot at, SHE does NOT get combat pay.
You see, we just can’t have those trying to kill our men and women in uniform believing that WE consider THEM to be the ENEMY can we?
Why, even Joe Biden let it slip a few weeks ago that the Taliban is not… “PER SE” our enemy.
The Emperor has, by some estimates, made yet ANOTHER political decision in regards to our military in harm’s way.
They of course would be in error.
The Emperor has DECREED that Afghanistan is SAFE and therefore, it MUST be safe.
It we were to give EVERYBODY wearing our uniform in Afghanistan COMBAT pay, then the “NOT PER SE” ENEMY might get the wrong impression.
It would ALSO make it SEEM questionable for the Emperor to pull our military men and women OUT of Afghanistan according to the Emperor’s PRE DECIDED but totally non political timeline.
Naturally, there are some who believe the Emperor might be looking to score political points as this is an election year and because so many other promises he made 3 years ago have gone up in smoke.
Hope and Change? A bumper sticker. Keeping unemployment under 8% if only we were to spend trillions of dollars? That didn’t work either. The Emperor has increased our debt more in 3 years than all the Presidents we have had did collectively.
There are those who believe the Emperor will claim, as we get closer to November, that HE has accomplished what NO ONE else could…An Afghanistan SO at peace with itself that our troops can begin to come home from their vacations.
Clearly, these are the pe
ople who resent the Emperor based on the color of his skin.
As investigations heat up over his green energy spending and his administration’s program of arming the Mexican drug cartels, some might inexplicably think the Emperor will take timely advantage of making public the 8×10 glossies of a dead bin Laden. Would these be the same post cards which were deemed liable to irritate our “not per sey” enemies a year ago?

So, our military personal in the field, in Afghanistan, will not get combat pay…UNLESS they are shot at.
Who gets to make that determination?
The commanders in the field? Clearly that is not appropriate. THEY were the ones who misguidedly felt our job in Iraq wasn’t done. THEY thought we should stay on at least in SOME role.
Clearly they are not to be trusted.
Perhaps the Emperor is best suited to decide who is and who isn’t being fired upon. Some shots could be nothing more than unintended discharges of a firearm. Others…celebratory gunfire by those engaged in a party
An IED going off in the near proximity of a foot patrol of vehicle burdened by men and women wearing an American flag on their sleeve? Well, the Emperor will deal with that scenario IF it happens but it COULD just be nothing more than road construction in
action.
An Emperor, above the law, not beholding to the Constitution, capable of deciding the doctrines to be followed, or ignored, by religious entities and having no use for the advice or consent of congress has decreed that the enemy is not the enemy, that our service men and women in a “safe zone” like Afghanistan are not due combat pay because, they are not really engaged in combat.
Clearly this is NOT a political decision – but my, don’t the Emperor’s new clothes look nice?
If we are fortunate enough to get the curent administration out of office in Nov., God help us if we don’t,because if he is re-elected God will be oiutlawed. I firmly believe when we get him out of office, the true agenda will be brought to the surface, there us mire going on than meets the eye.
Craig, your descriptions and analysis of the obama administration are spot on. It is obvious that we must stop this tyrant you call emporer. There are times when he does not seem to be in the campaign mode. This makes me thinks that if he does not think he can be elected hen he will not have elections. This option of there not being elections would have been considered absurd if mentioned four years ago. It becomes more real every time the emporer disregards the Constitution. Craig, love the different attire the emperor is wearing, or lack thereof. Problem is, in order to get the message across, we have to look at his face sevrral times while reading your inspiring words. And getting sicker and sicker.
Obama will continue to grab power and disreguard the constitution until he is stopped by congress, or a court he will obey. When he is out of office we will finally be privy to his background info and find out what a fraud and illegal persident he has been. Lets hope this happens soon, like 2012. Our national survival depend on it.
