Yesterday, in the Friday Fume, I went off on the SEIU for forcing unionization on the Michigan parents of 2 children in their 30’s who deal with cerebral palsy. The SEIU is taking union dues from their children’s Medicaid checks and calling those parents “Home Care Givers” and forcing them into the union. It’s thuggery at best and downright theft at worst.

It’s shameful any way you care to look at it.

This apparently isn’t the only problem stemming from greed raising its ugly head in Michigan – and guess what folks, it ain’t the greedy Republicans at the bottom of the Michigan barrel.

Let’s take a hard look at Wayne County, Michigan, shall we.

In Wayne County, Democratic county executive, Bob Ficano has been spending money like a drunken navy. Lots of money.

For the last couple of months, there’s been quite the fiasco over the large severance package awarded to the departing Chief Development Officer, Turkia Mullin. That severance package is in the neighborhood of $200,000.

Keep that figure in mind.

Back to Liberal Bob Ficano…This guy has a chauffeur-driven Caddy and he had installed, a private elevator from the lobby of the building in which he works to his office. That building, by the way, is a $47 million building. Did I mention that this $47 million dollar building…AND its new private elevator…Is paid for by the TAXPAYERS???

Yep.

Here’s the thing…

Liberal Bob is spending all this money and giving Mullin a quarter of a million dollars bye-bye gift and he has to be getting the dough from somewhere…Of course it’s taxpayer bucks; but what program is getting slashed to divert these funds?

Meals on Wheels.

Senior citizens in Wayne County Michigan and eating slop so Liberal Bob can ride in his private elevator, be driven about in his Caddy and pay off for Turkia.

The meals now being served, in WAYNE COUNTY, MICHIGAN, and coming from…JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI from an outfit which specializes in PRISON FOOD.

Yummy.

Turkia Mullin worked for the county for just 2 years before leaving her post in September and taking the position of Airport Director for Detroit’s Metro Airport.

Her severance package was so off the wall that it is now being investigated by the FBI and reportedly, Ms. Mullin has paid back something like $135,000.00 of it claiming the rest went to taxes.

Now…after just 2 months on the job at Metro Airport, Turkia Anwa Mullin has been…FIRED and this time, it looks like ARBITRATION will bring her a severance package of…$750,000.

Ms. Mullin wasn’t FIRED from her position at Wayne County…she was PAID TO LEAVE that post to take another, the airport gig…and BOTH jobs were COUNTY jobs and BOTH salaries, and her “severance package” were all PAID FOR by the TAXPAYERS!!!

Is Detroit a microcosm of sorts? One can argue it is.

Detroit has long been a Mecca of Liberalism, in much the same way as was New Orleans.

Liberals have been running Detroit for a long, long time and if liberal ideology and the liberal agenda, which liberals far and wide are so desperate to cram down the throats of all Americans is so utopia inducing, how is it that Detroit is now such a cesspool of malfeasance?

When you add the number of under employed in Detroit to the number of unemployed, the figure is staggeringly near 50%.

47 percent of Detroiters are  “functionally illiterate,” meaning they can’t do such basic things as filling out an employment application or reading the prescription on a bottle of medication.

According to the 2010 census, Michigan is the only state to LOSE population in the last 10 years and as for Detroit, the population there is now BELOW the figure needed to keep a certain amount of federal funds, that’s taxpayer dollars, coming in and the Mayor is vowing to go door to door to find the 40,000 residents needed to continue soaking the American taxpayers for more money to throw down the rat hole.

How bad IS the population decline in Michigan? Over the last 10 years…1 person has fled the state every 22 minutes…24 hours a day, 7 days a week…365 days a year.

For decades, New Orleans, another liberal Mecca, was handed billions of taxpayer dollars to shore up existing levees and build such things as flood gates on Lake Pontchartrain but so much of those funds were diverted to pet projects or halted by liberal environmentalists that the inevitable happened with Katrina.

Liberals always want to blame republicans for the woes which befall them and insist that the “Government” bail them out of trouble. Remember, just a couple of years ago, when Detroit auto makers took hat in hand to congress and begged for a taxpayer bailout?

They flew from Detroit to Washington on their private jets to tell their sob stories to congress.

To see what the liberal agenda and liberals in power can do to a nation, one need look no further than our nation’s liberal Meccas.

How can localized liberal Meccas be directly compared to the national liberal agenda? Simple really.

Just keep spending other people’s money.

In Detroit, their Mayor is desperate to find another 40 thousand residents in order to get more of the U.S. taxpayer’s money to spend on the same sort of projects which have brought about their woes. In Washington, Obama wants to hike taxes on the wealthy in order to spend it on another bailout even though the first massive bailout failed.

Liberals are, of course, quick to say that the first massive bailout was a success and the only way out of the deep hole is continued digging. Obama stated that without the bailout, unemployment would reach 8% but with it, unemployment went over 9% and now, we are finding that some of the companies which received tons of cash are going belly up or begging for more money while paying huge bonus checks to their executives.

In Detroit…begging for more money while paying huge bucks to executives who want to change jobs then get fired.

What’s the difference?

Economically speaking, the liberal agenda is what it is and it simply doesn’t matter the size of the pig or the amount of lipstick applied…Only that others can be convinced it is able to fly.
