This week, with a major U.N. assembly taking place, there seems to be a great deal of behind the scenes scrambling to prevent Palestinian statehood. Scrambling is the key word. Why exactly are we scrambling? Should we not have taken the steps we now scramble to take months ago?
The scrambling is to form a multi-nation block of statehood for Palestine so that the U.S. does not stand alone in the U.N. Security Council in opposition to Palestinian statehood.
This should have been a done deal a long, long time ago but that isn’t the case. It seems that Obama promised Palestinian Authority leader Abbas that Palestine would indeed gain recognition and statehood upon which now, Obama seems to have reversed course.
The first question is, why would Obama advocate Palestinian statehood to begin with? I’ll get back to that.
The second question is why would he reverse course at such a late date and be forced to scramble for diplomatic backing?
The answer to the second question seems obvious. Political expediency. Obama is in trouble as he watches his polling numbers drop, and he IS in campaign mode. In fact, Obama will take time to address the U.N. General Assembly this week, between campaign fund raisers in New York.
It was last week’s events IN New York which undoubtedly played a major role in the course reversal. Last week, a congressional seat occupied for nearly 90 years by democrats went, in a special election, to a republican. The 9th District in New York is nearly 70% democrat and heavily populated by Orthodox Jews who have, for decades, overwhelmingly supported democrat candidates.
Nationwide, the Jewish vote has been, for decades, overwhelmingly democrat – but last week, in a microcosm, that Jewish block in New York, turned away from Obama and now, he must scramble to try and regain that important support. If he loses the New York Jewish vote, there is a very strong chance he’ll lose it nationally.
Why reverse his course on Palestinian statehood at such a late date? To woo back the Jewish vote for 2012.
Now, back to the first question. Why would Obama advocate Palestinian statehood to begin with?
The answer to this question has far darker implications than campaign flim-flamery and pandering. This has to do with Obama’s core beliefs and his basic nature.
Those liberals who support Obama and engage in dismissive name calling at the mere hint of someone saying that Obama is a Muslim do so while, with purpose, ignoring the Red Crescent warning flags. Whether or not he IS a Muslim aside, he IS clearly sympathetic towards them. Obama’s refusal, for more than 2 years, to use the phrase Islamic Terrorists, and his trying to divert attention away from Muslim acts of violence by relabeling them as “manmade disasters” were fuel on the fire.
While Egypt burned in a popular uprising, the Obama administration was in the U.N. scolding Israel for building apartments in Gaza. When Obama finally called for the removal of Mubarak from power in Egypt, he stated that the Muslim Brotherhood should have a seat at the table in forming a new government.
During a popular uprising in Iran, Obama did nothing…because Iran was already in the hands of violent Muslim control.
In Libya, Obama finally got on the French bandwagon and called for Gaddafi to go and urged support for the rebels…he even considered arming them…without knowing who they really were. As it turns out, many of those rebels are tied to anti western Muslim groups including…the Muslim Brotherhood.
Just months after the fall of Mubarak, WITH the Muslim Brotherhood tightening their grip in Egypt, the Israeli embassy was attacked and the call for the shredding of the decades old Israel – Egypt peace accords has been called for by…The Muslim Brotherhood.
There are even reports of Muslim Brotherhood Members being appointed to jobs in the White House.
Obama even suggested Israel return to the non defensible borders of 1967 to appease Hamas and start the process of statehood for Palestine.
Perhaps the most visible Red Crescent warning flag was the promise from Obama to Abbas of Palestinian statehood. The Palestinians and the Muslim Brotherhood are closely tied together by Hamas, the power behind the Palestinian Authority.
Obama, Members of his administration and liberals alike have all tried to foist a false sense of calm regarding the Muslim Brotherhood upon those who can plainly see the reality. They have tried to convince us that the Muslim Brotherhood is not tied to Hamas, that they are benign, they are peaceful and do not consort with terrorists.
Nothing could be farther from the truth.
Those who purposefully try to deceive you regarding the true nature of the Muslim Brotherhood also lie about the true nature of Hamas claiming Hamas has no intention of destroying Israel and also claim there is nothing in the charter of Hamas regarding that directive.
Let’s take a look at that charter and see the reality.
Liberals say there is no tie between Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood but Part 1 of the Hamas Charter, drawn up in 1988, tells a different tale.
Article Two: The Link between Hamas and the Association of Muslim Brothers
The Islamic Resistance Movement is one of the wings of the Muslim Brothers in Palestine. The Muslim Brotherhood Movement is a world organization, the largest Islamic Movement in the modern era. It is characterized by a profound understanding, by precise notions and by a complete comprehensiveness of all concepts of Islam in all domains of life: views and beliefs, politics and economics, education and society, jurisprudence and rule, indoctrination and teaching, the arts and publications, the hidden and the evident, and all the other domains of life.
The true nature of Hamas being an organization fostering hatred, martyrdom and destruction from generation to generation and because of their inseparable bond to the Brotherhood, that of the Muslim Brotherhood as well, is the annihilation of those who do not adhere to their ideology as is evident in the following from the Charter of Hamas:
Article Six: Peculiarity and Independence
The Islamic Resistance Movement is a distinct Palestinian Movement which owes its loyalty to Allah, derives from Islam its way of life and strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine. Only under the shadow of Islam could the members of all regions coexist in safety and security for their lives, properties and rights. In the absence of Islam, conflict arises, oppression reigns, corruption is rampant and struggles and wars prevail. Allah had inspired the Muslim poet, Muhammad Iqbal, when he said:
When the Faith wanes, there is no security
There is no this-worldliness for those who have no faith
Those who wish to live their life without religion
Have made annihilation the equivalent of life.
Now, to tie together Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood and their direct desire to eliminate Israel, here is an excerpt from Article 7 of the Hamas Charter:
…Hamas is one of the links in the Chain of Jihad in the confrontation with the Zionist invasion. It links up with the setting out of the Martyr Izz a-din al-Qassam and his brothers in the Muslim Brotherhood who fought the Holy War in 1936; it further relates to another link of the Palestinian Jihad and the Jihad and efforts of the Muslim Brothers during the 1948 War, and to the Jihad operations of the Muslim Brothers in 1968 and thereafter. But even if the links have become distant from each other, and even if the obstacles erected by those who revolve in the Zionist orbit, aiming at obstructing the road before the Jihad fighters, have rendered the pursuance of Jihad impossible; nevertheless, the Hamas has been looking forward to implement Allah’s promise whatever time it might take. The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him! This will not apply to the Gharqad, which is a Jewish tree (cited by Bukhari and Muslim).
Okay, it’s clear that Hamas is the power behind the Palestinian Authority and that Hamas and the Muslim brotherhood are, hand in hand, advocating the destruction of Israel and the Jews according to the charter of Hamas, so…what is Hamas doing petitioning the U.N. for statehood? Has Hamas turned over a new leaf? Are they interested in a diplomatic solution?
No way.
Again, we turn to the Hamas charter for the reality of this situation. It’s a long passage, but only by reading it will you know the truth.
Article Thirteen: Peaceful Solutions, [Peace] Initiatives and International Conferences
[Peace] initiatives, the so-called peaceful solutions, and the international conferences to resolve the Palestinian problem, are all contrary to the beliefs of the Islamic Resistance Movement. For renouncing any part of Palestine means renouncing part of the religion; the nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement is part of its faith, the movement educates its members to adhere to its principles and to raise the banner of Allah over their homeland as they fight their Jihad: “Allah is the all-powerful, but most people are not aware.” From time to time a clamoring is voiced, to hold an International Conference in search for a solution to the problem. Some accept the idea, others reject it, for one reason or another, demanding the implementation of this or that condition, as a prerequisite for agreeing to convene the Conference or for participating in it. But the Islamic Resistance Movement, which is aware of the [prospective] parties to this conference, and of their past and present positions towards the problems of the Muslims, does not believe that those conferences are capable of responding to demands, or of restoring rights or doing justice to the oppressed. Those conferences are no more than a means to appoint the nonbelievers as arbitrators in the lands of Islam. Since when did the Unbelievers do justice to the Believers? “And the Jews will not be pleased with thee, nor will the Christians, till thou follow their creed. Say: Lo! the guidance of Allah [himself] is the Guidance. And if you should follow their desires after the knowledge which has come unto thee, then you would have from Allah no protecting friend nor helper.” Sura 2 (the Cow), verse 120 There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. The initiatives, proposals and International Conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility. The Palestinian people are too noble to have their future, their right and their destiny submitted to a vain game. As the hadith has it: “The people of Syria are Allah’s whip on this land; He takes revenge by their intermediary from whoever he wished among his worshipers. The Hypocrites among them are forbidden from vanquishing the true believers, and they will die in anxiety and sorrow.” (Told by Tabarani, who is traceable in ascending order of traditionaries to Muhammad, and by Ahmed whose chain of transmission is incomplete. But it is bound to be a true hadith, for both story tellers are reliable. Allah knows best.)
This Article 13 from the Hamas charter clearly leads one to the conclusion that by claiming to pursue a diplomatic solution they are in fact engaging in deceit and looking for a way to legitimize their Jihad against Israel and the Jews.
While there are parts of the Hamas charter which seem to negate those provided here, they veil the overall ideology that peace can be had as long as everyone subscribes to their ideology.
That the U.N. would even for the blink of an eye, consider statehood recognition for an ideology, having no borders and no land and bent on the destruction of another nation and its people is so beyond the pale it nearly defies words. It goes toward proving what a corrupt and worthless organization the U.N. has become.
For a U.S. President to support the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas and to further, even for a moment, entertain the idea of, much less the promise of Palestinian statehood given the charter of Hamas, is despicable.
The fact that he has done so and now scrambles to prevent Palestinian statehood is clear evidence that Obama is not now acting on what is right; rather, he is pandering for political gain to a voting block which has started to see through him.
Israel is unquestionably the best friend our country has in the most dangerous region on earth and is the only democracy in that region. Obama’s consistent turning of his back on our brother Israel cannot be undone by this last minute pandering.
Obama has been dead wrong in his approach to Israel, dead wrong in his sympathy toward the Muslim Brotherhood and dead wrong to even consider advocating Palestinian statehood. Hamas should never have been supported in any way by the U.S. at any time and those who initiated that were wrong in doing so.
Those who would now continue their support of Obama, engage in propaganda to prop up his pandering or of those who would continue to support Hamas or a Palestinian state do so knowing full well that they support our and Israel’s enemies and those who sympathize with those enemies.
Netanyahu is 100% correct in stating that ONLY when the Palestinian Authority and Hamas recognize Israel’s right to exist can a path to peach begin – and I might add that they also must dissolve any and all affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood before that path can begin.
Any President who cannot stand firmly and completely WITH Israel and AGAINST our common enemies is NOT fit for the office.
One small correction: Israeli citizens are NOT “building apartments in Gaza!!” Hardly! But they are in East Jerusalem (Good!) and in Samaria and Judea (which Israeli’s enemies and useful idiot “allies” incorrectly call “the Occupied Lands” or “the West Bank,” when, in fact, they are in Israel itself!!).
As for B. HUSSEIN Ovomit, Nov. 2012 can’t come soon enough!!
Craig, my hat’s off to you for another terrific article. Why people are not recognizing the absolute danger of the united moslem brotherhood and hamas (I refuse to capitalize those words) is beyond me. How can they believe the Anointed One? Don’t they remember what he has said about Israel, pre-1967 borders, his support of the rebels in all the moslem countries celebrating their
“Arab spring” – which term still baffles me. I remember his promise to the Palestinians and I hear what he is now saying. This is a totally terrifying situation, for Israel and for America.
