I am Pro-Life, but very much believe in choice. I just think the choice comes when a woman decides to do the one thing (outside costly and planned medical procedures) known to cause pregnancy. I mean, really: “I don’t want to get pregnant, but I’m going to do the one thing known to cause pregnancy.” Come on… “I was on birth control.” It’s not exactly a secret the birth control isn’t perfect. Pregnancy is a consequence, not a choice. Rape and abuse are, of course, the exception; but otherwise, pregnancy is a consequence, not a choice. The choice came earlier.
Liberals try to say the Pro-Choice movement empowers women. Sorry, but no. I think it does the opposite. It says women aren’t strong enough to face the consequences of our actions. Running from the consequences of our choices isn’t strong or empowering; facing those consequences is. And just for 9 months. After that, if they want to give the baby up for adoption, that’s wonderful. So many who can’t have children would love to adopt and care for that baby.
For women who can’t have children, the idea of abortion is incomprehensible. Here are women throwing away (killing) a miracle (child) that the woman who can’t have a child would do almost anything for. The amazing ability to have a child is not just being taken for granted, but abused and perverted in the worst way.
When you consider 9 months of discomfort compared to a life of regret… Which is easier? And if liberals think women who have abortions don’t face regret, they need to think again, and check out this web site.

With all this talk about women’s rights, what about the father’s rights? It’s his child too. Sure, a lot of the fathers wouldn’t care, but some would. What about them? Liberals ‘conveniently’ ignore this part of the issue. Of course, many Liberal men are probably happy to let the woman take the emotional/spiritual weight of the choice, and leave them off the hook. “It was her choice.” Weak. Man up and be a father. Protect your child. And the law does give the father a right to protect his child – why should that not apply while the child is still in the womb? Again, rape and abuse form the exception. Rapists/abusers shouldn’t have any rights. Okay, okay, they get one right: the right to castration.
I would grant three exceptions where abortion was legal, and they are backed by legal precedent. Medical need, such as when the mother’s life is in danger. That falls under self defense. Also, rape or abuse. Those fall under cruel and unusual punishment, since I think forcing a woman to carry that kind of reminder of her rape/abuse is cruel and unusual. And those things certainly weren’t the woman’s choice, so the consequences should be minimized. She’s suffered enough.
